Good morning Mick and everyone. It rained all day yesterday in Lancashire, hoping for better weather today as I have a motorway drive in the dark this evening. North West meet up today, looking forward to a lovely lunch.
Glad you are feeling better Mick.
Have a good day everyone.

Glad you are feeling better Mick.

Good morning all. Too dark to see what the weather's like in Northampton yet, but at least it's not raining! Poured here all day yesterday, so didn't go for the health walk. Dusted and hoovered and moved furniture ready for Christmas tree at the weekend.

Sainsbury's delivery this morning, and then will go to the post office for my Christmas stamps and to post the cards to Australia.

Have DGD again after school today; will get her sausage and chips from the chippy on the way home! Elder DGD and mum are at the theatre again for panto rehearsals - first night tomorrow!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning mick, morning all.

It is still dark but not too cold in North Leicestershire.

It's a really exciting day for me today as a friend I have known since I was 4 but not seen (one way and another) for nearly 50 years is coming for coffee.

Better get making biscuits.

Enjoy your days everyone.

DoraMarr Thu 06-Dec-18 06:45:15

Good morning Mick, Annie and everyone from a dark but -so far- dry Birmingham. Off to pick up my two year old granddaughter soon. We’re going to a preschool activity at the Hippodrome this morning for the first time. I’m glad you are feeling better, Mick.

Grammaretto Thu 06-Dec-18 06:45:50

Calm today in the Scottish Borders. Before the storm?
Glad to hear you're feeling better Mick.
How exciting to meet a childhood friend Kitty
I must write my cards today. They are arriving thick and fast including the strange ones I'm not sure who from!

Willow10 Thu 06-Dec-18 07:21:32

Good morning all. Still dark but dry in East Northants. Christmas shopping this morning followed by wrapping this afternoon. A bit of decluttering to be done before the tree comes out at the weekend. Good to hear you are recovering well Mick.

Rufus2 Thu 06-Dec-18 07:28:15

Good Evening Mick and All; Pleased to hear you are a lot better, but mind you don't go a purler on the ice as you step out your back door! Time and hot weather are helping my recuperation; 37C today, 24C tonight then 38C tomorrow!
Tuna mornay for dinner tonight, out of the freezer, Squiffy! Please let me know if my menus are tormenting you too much! tchgrin

Good Morning from a dark and damp Black Country, but still very mild!

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday at The Down Inn near Bridgnorth. Three course Christmas meal and dancing. Beats sitting in an office any day smile

Today is U3A monthly meeting this afternoon. This morning I am popping to Merry hell Hill Shopping centre for last minute bits and bobs.

Glad you are feeling better today Mick

How exciting kitty to meet a friend after all these years, you will have so much to catch up on.

Have a good day everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 06-Dec-18 07:43:16

Good morning all x

Enjoy meeting your friend kitty

Glad you are feeling better mick

No idea what the weather is like outside as I am in bed with curtains drawn Mr GG has gone to make tea ☕️

Taking my Mums friend to lunch today with my D &’GS, hopefully DIL and GD will join us. She lives on her own and Mum lived next door, they used to spend so much time together and she misses her so much (as do all
of us).

GS has his nursery concert tomorrow and we are looking forward to seeing it. He wakes us up singing Christmas songs every morning ?

Good morning Annieb x

Wishing you all a peaceful day ??

ninathenana Thu 06-Dec-18 07:52:23

Dry and grey n Kent. It's not cold though. We haven't had frost yet.
A day of pottering for me, DH will be in his workshop finishing a project for a friend.
Glad your feeling better Mick
Have a lovely time with your friend kitty

NanKate Thu 06-Dec-18 07:54:13

Morning Mick and All.

Cloudy and mild in South Bucks.

So pleased you are making a good recovery Mick.

What fun Kitty, there is nothing like old friends who can share memories with you.

Rufus I haven’t heard the word purler for many years, it really takes me back.

Off to meet my friend for a fish and chip lunch.

Marydoll Thu 06-Dec-18 07:56:59

Good morning all from a rainy Glasgow.
Glad you are on the mend Mick.

A day of pottering about and sorting out the Christmas presents I have been collecting since January. grin
I think I may have bought DGD too much.

We have the nursery run this afternoon. It brought back memories on Tuesday when we got there, as I did my very first teaching practice a hundred years ago in this nursery.
How things have changed. It is now a brand new purpose built centre, just opened a few months ago.
DH was totally unsurprised when I met people I knew, one gran I hadn't seen since primary school! What was amazing was we went to school in a different town from the nursery. He had to drag me away.

flowers for all those suffering on GN, so much sadness just now.

Enjoy your Wednesday, all.

Greyduster Thu 06-Dec-18 08:05:26

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Going to be dry in South Yorkshire. There was a spectacular sunrise this morning but my phone camera wouldn’t do the business and it was too cold to go and get the other one! Dentist for me this morning, then a visit to my neice and the school run to follow! Marydoll we have gone totally over the top with GS too!!? Have a good day, folks.

oldgaijin Thu 06-Dec-18 08:09:29

Morning all from a soaking wet Aberdeenshire...the deluge has returned. Am planning a mega bake today for nearly 300 kids booked in to Santa's grotto over the weekend, in aid of Barnardos Scotland. Our helpers group do this every year and is hard work, but great fun! Hope everyone's aches and pains are improving...Mick, have long, hot soak in the bath to ease the bruises after your fall.

Auntieflo Thu 06-Dec-18 08:15:00

Morning Mick, Annie to come and all others.
Where did Wednesday go?
Glad your back is feeling better Mick.
We are off later to deliver gifts for our DD to deliver to DGD and family. They are the only wrapped presents and writtten cards , so far done.
It is a funny pink sky this morning, so wonder what the weather has in store today.
Enjoy your meet up with your with an old friend KittyL
This afternoon I may get DH to help tackle the loft ladder and retrieve the decorations, and sort them out.
Have a good day one and all.

harrigran Thu 06-Dec-18 08:21:10

Good morning, dark and damp here.
I have been told to attend a diabetic prevention programme and the first session is at 10am.
I wrote 75% of the cards yesterday and disposed of all the unwanted books, just a little more tidying then the tree can go up.
Special thoughts for the sad and poorly GNetters.

Gagagran Thu 06-Dec-18 08:23:03

Good Morning everyone!

It's very mild and damp here on the south coast. Lots of standing water around too.

We are back from the supermarket trip and await the arrival of Fred the painter who is going to start on the woodwork today, having finished the emulsion. I love the coloured feature walls. DH is still not sure but I think will come round!

Have a good day everyone.

Brunette10 Thu 06-Dec-18 08:24:14

Morning everyone and to those who follow. Fife is dark and damp at the moment, think it's to be like this today. Woke up with splitting head this morning and quite an achy body, not sure why, I certainly hope I feel better as the day goes on. Had great time yesterday with DGS1 at the festive sing-along. Will see how I feel today before making any plans. Glad you are feeling better Mick. For those feeling under the weather, look after yourself, Christmas will be here soon wink

Pittcity Thu 06-Dec-18 08:27:48

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Very mild here, no chance of ice Rufus.
DGS2 is here for the day and he has a cold. The Calpol is beginning to kick in so I am off for a game of dominoes.

dragonfly46 Thu 06-Dec-18 08:28:05

Good Morning all.

Coffee with friends this morning then taking my mum to local hospital for X-ray. She may have broken her foot. Let’s hope it won’t mean a trip to Leicester.

Enjoy meeting up with your friend Kitty. I met up with a lot of old friends this year.

EllanVannin Thu 06-Dec-18 08:38:16

Good morning All x
Dark damp but unusually mild here in the NW.
My three cats were quietly sitting in line waiting for their breakfast and it looked so comical. I started singing to them the first tune that came into my head which surprised myself.
The song ? " Oh sweet Polly Oliver " Where on earth did that come from ? Going back to my childhood !

Hope all is well with everyone.

Mapleleaf Thu 06-Dec-18 08:41:10

Good morning
Grey and mild here at the moment. It’s supposed to be mainly dry today with occasional showers possible. Still a lot drier than yesterday!
Meeting friends this pm, this morning pottering.
Glad to read you are feeling much better today mick and you too, Rufus. Those temperatures are a bit too hot for me, Rufus but your dinner sounds nice. tchsmile

Anniebach Thu 06-Dec-18 08:49:34
