Am I the only person who.......

We used to have a neighbour's cat that almost lived here although he did go home at bedtime and for food. If he got upstairs the only way I could get him off the bed was to put on the vacuum cleaner. He had a chair with a cushion on it right next to a radiator. DH used to put the central heating on just for the cat . He wouldn't put it on if I'd been cold.

My esteemed FiL wouldn’t move if the cat was on his lap. It was a good excuse to be waited on.

We don’t have a cat, but an elderly dog who is showing a few signs of ill health. He has learnt to manipulate us. For example, he has been suffering with bronchitis recently and on medication, but he appeared to be getting better. Today, hubby and I were going out to a Xmas lunch with a group I belong to. Dog was breathing fine all morning, then as soon as he saw hubby getting changed he started coughing and having problems breathing properly. I said we needed to take him back to the vet straight away. Vet checked him over, breathing was back to his normal, heavy panting, he gets stressed out at the vets. She said they can be like children and play the ‘don’t leave me, I don’t feel well card’! So, hubby took him home, gave him his meds and left him. I had gone on to warn he was running late. Pets eh?

We allow the cat full roaming rights but no bedroom access at night as he is too much of a fidget. Dog is not allowed on furniture and not in bedrooms. I love my pets and couldn't imagine a home without them, but draw the line at sharing a bed with them.

I spend my whole life running errands for hubby (can you pull the curtains, get me a cuppa...?) who always qualifies request with "I WOULD do it but I've got a cat on my lap!" (I think the cat gets extra rations for enabling him!)

If you are happy with that ok if not change it.

I don't have a cat but my dog sleeps in bed with me. He has to lean against me and I gradually find I'm right at the edge of the bed. Do I move him...no I get out of bed and get in the other side rather than disturb his slumber. Madness!!

People!!!! These are animals...I would never knowingly hurt an animal but I draw the line of letting them on beds OR my favourite chairs. They have thier baskets ....end of!

These are our babies. Gatsby is sleeping on Daddy's lap. Biggie is smiling. (He is the only cat we've ever met who smiles. He loves people.) Jayda is climbing on the valance to get across to the cupboard while Gatsby watches her. Amazingly she has never fallen! Doesn't damage the valance either!

Our dog and cat were always on our bed during weekend lie-ins. Ddog usually slept beside me on the bedroom floor, but would frequently jump up to join us in the night - just as well we had a nice big bed.

A cherished memory of Christmas mornings is both dds on our bed, excitedly opening their stockings, with ddog and dcat (RIP both ?) joining in.

Ddog wasn't officially allowed on sofas but as I found out when once nipping back for something only a minute after leaving the house, she was clever enough to realise that she could snuggle up on them when she thought I was going to be out!

I get the best nights sleeps with two of my cats,one sleeps on the bed behind me and the other in front so I'm tucked/hemmed-in like a straight-jacket and none of us moves all night-------well so it appears.

me too. i leave my cat where it is. after all you can make the bed later...cats sleep anywhere ,anyplace any chair if they asleep .leave them to it..afterall would you leave the bed if someone wanted to change it. no way jose' . lol
