Cutlery Drawer

Yep, I have a drawer, and a divider thingy.
I'm not keen on the hanging thingys.

Drawer for me, usual compartments plus one/two for the odd things like peelers, openers, tongs etc

Meant to add, hanging things take up worktop space.

I have far too much cutlery to hang on anything, in fact I could do with a second cutlery drawer. I don't like loads of stuff on the worktops.

Drawer with compartments for me. Sadly, no compartments for the batteries, instruction booklets, takeaway menus, elastic bands, odd clothes pegs, keys for who knows where,and many more things!

I have two cutlery drawers ( there’s posh!) with dividers in them, and a large drawer of utensils as well.
Things stay cleaner put away in drawers.

I have a drawer which I lined with a sort of sticky-backed green felt, onto which those cutlery bar things were supposed to be stuck. Although, being felt, they don't stick very well. So some cutlery shoots all over the place when you open and shut the drawers.

If you're going to do this, make sure all the cutlery lies parallel to the front of the drawer.

I keep mine on the work surface in a nice pot. But all sorts of odds and ends in the cutlery drawer.

I have a draw for everyday cutlery. It is segmented into knives/ forks etc. I have another for things such as salad servers, lemon squeezers etc. And a third for garlic crushers, potato peeler and nut crackers etc. All with well designed and fitted bamboo trays. From a well known Swedish company. I just love it. A place for everything and , unless DH puts things away, everything in its place.

Does anyone else's divider thingy fill up with crumbs?
How do they get in there?

However, the bread bin is across the kitchen and no-one butters bread or toast on that worktop either.

Drawer with dividers for everyday cutlery (silver cutlery is elsewhere, doesn’t go in dishwasher so is rarely used). Then there’s the “kitchen bits” drawer with dividers which holds such delights as corkscrews, can openers, oven thermometer, corn cob holders, ball of string, etc. I’m amused that both sons have a drawer they call the kitchen bits drawer.

Divider thingy for me as well, we have restricted space in the kitchen so everything has its place. Best cutlery kept in the dresser drawer.

I have a cutlery drawer with the divider thingy. In the drawer below I have put in a divider but it is overflowing with cup measures, rolling pin various serving spoons, potato masher garlic press, etc, etc.
No hanging things for me. I haven't got the space for one.

My cutlery drawer is on its last legs. It is held together with duct tape but it is definitely complaining.
Other people have new kitchens. All I want is a new drawer

I dont like hanging things in my kitchen,they get dirty and its not hygenic in my opinion.Cutlery drawers for me ,makes more sense.

At the risk of sounding like Hyacinth Bucket, I also have a 4 rung wall hung holder for my "batterie de cuisine" could post a pic at some time if anyone is wondering what the heck I'm on about!

paddyann can't see that drawers are particularly more hygienic, unless of course they are hermetically sealed?

I have two cutlery drawers. One for everyday use which has a tray for knives, forks and spoons etc., and a bit on the side where everything else is chucked - veg peeler, scissors, pizza wheel (which never gets used) cheese knife (ditto) bits of string, garlic crusher, tin opener, small tongs, corkscrew, etc., etc.

The other drawer is in the dresser and has a tray for cutlery that is used on high days and holidays. It's very organised because I hardly ever go in it.

Divider for me but the teaspoons don’t like their bit and most have gone goodness knows where! ?
