Morethan, what beautiful grandchildren you have. As has been said, that photo must be destined for the wall.
N&G, lovely pics of Jackson and Cooper, and Grampy of course. Love the jumpers.
Panache, I`m not good with words, but I truly hope that you find ways around your difficulties, we`d miss you if you weren`t here.
Many, many hopes and wishes from me to all who are sad or poorly, not mentioning names because I`m bound to miss some out.
My stairlift has been playing up for a while, but got worse yesterday, so I rang Acorn, seeing as I pay them £275 a year for maintenance and haven`t had anything for it this year. The clever man at the other end was able to tell me that it seemed fine, so Rena rang and played up, and an engineer came this afternoon. I was stuck yesterday, but only 2 steps from the top, so managed to escape, but was scared of getting stuck halfway up. The man who came agreed with me that it was too slow, changed all the batteries, it`s now running brilliantly.
I came downstairs this morning to find the boiler had given up the ghost, rang Corgi Homeplan, then waited all day for a boiler man, who rang at 5pm to say he was coming tomorrow! I hate having no hot water.

Well anyone whose seen Maw, she’s of German heritage with Scots influence, short, and of obvious pugnacious attitude, to know that she obviously has an attitude that’s going to be anathema to GNHQ!

Just popped in before bed and won't stay - 5.30 am isn't that far away and Daphne wants her supper.

Just wanted to add Panache that if you're using a tablet or small laptop there is a special beanbag available to sit them on on your knee - it's called iBeanie. It might help if used with the V shaped cushions too.

Maw what utter nonsense about you using the wrong 'tone' - next thing it will be 'looking at people' in a funny way!!

Soop well done on ringing the animal welfare about the poor cattle - I would be upset too. I hate to see poor horses tethered to road sides in all weathers too. I could never be a farmer - I'd be wanting to bring all the animals into the house if it rained!

Ann do you have an iPad or tablet with family photos on it? I used to take mine in when I went to visit my mum and although she couldn't talk she would smile at some of them she obviously recognised. I was also asked to make a memory box for her - I put a small photo album in it as well as a few bits of things from her home. I also wrote a little story about her life so that the carers could get to know the person she used to be. All things to help.

Izabella that sounds like some serious cycling - good luck! We have been discussing a possible trip to Italy as I've never been but it certainly won't be on two wheels grin

GreyD your husband's hearing sounds like mine - how you can mistake vaping for baking is beyond me. Both very funny though.

Still not tried Alfie in his harness - it's been sprayed with catnip a couple of times so he's shown an interest but I've not pushed my luck yet.

Tomorrow's another day smile

Maws dog Hattie as you can see from the photos she’s posted is obviously very actively aggressive

Doodle Tue 11-Dec-18 23:03:35

Galen grin

Doodle Tue 11-Dec-18 23:05:00

morethan, I hope things are ok. Thinking of you x

MawBroon Tue 11-Dec-18 23:05:09

Hattie is so fierce she is even registered under the dangerous dogs act.
Lethal.

cornergran Tue 11-Dec-18 23:07:41

Maw grin and a hug if it's needed.

Nannytopsy Wed 12-Dec-18 10:30:47

Morning everyone! I’ve just done two more days at work but all finished! I really must crack on with Christmas now - lots of presents still to get, which will be swapped at a family gathering on Saturday. So goodbye for a while

annodomini Wed 12-Dec-18 11:44:53

* galen*, just wondering where you got your image of Maw! You must be thinking of somebody else!?

dragonfly46 Wed 12-Dec-18 11:53:31

Careful Maw admin might take you seriously and have the dangerous dog team round.

Hattie looks gorgeous!

MawBroon Wed 12-Dec-18 12:09:58

grin Dragonfly but fear not, ever on the alert she would see them off

Galen Wed 12-Dec-18 12:18:42

I’m surprised she’s not muzzled. ( and I’m not saying who I mean?)

dragonfly46 Wed 12-Dec-18 12:28:14

I can see that she is ready for anything!!!

Charleygirl5 Wed 12-Dec-18 12:40:40

Galen I read yesterday that 2 pensioners on board a cruise ship were helping police with their enquiries because class A drugs had been found on board. Two names immediately sprung to mind so if the pair of you need food parcels please let me know.

I had in the past offered to care for Hattie but I value my life and my hands too much. She is lying there just ready to pounce. You really should not be allowed to keep an animal like that in your home. Is your vet on call 24/7?

MawBroon Wed 12-Dec-18 12:46:09

grin Galen

Like a coiled spring Dragonfly

Feelingmyage55 Wed 12-Dec-18 13:58:35

In the kitchen, frazzled, need cake, is there wine? The tree is up but the decorations and lights are not where they are supposed to be! Alas and alack! Lying on the sofa retracing my steps last twelfth night. They always go in the same spot (the only vacant spot) in the loft. Ideas?

dragonfly46 Wed 12-Dec-18 14:33:49

Garage?

soop Wed 12-Dec-18 14:43:25

Wonderful to be back home. Have merely glimpsed through all your activities since I logged off yesterday.

It's another grey and misly day. I am about to pep myself up with a very welcome mug or two of coffee. Back a little later. smile

Galen Wed 12-Dec-18 15:11:29

Charlie yes please. Hash brownies and wacky baccy very acceptable

Charleygirl5 Wed 12-Dec-18 15:24:51

Sorry Galen but I think the police selfishly removed all the drugs from the cabin.

soop Wed 12-Dec-18 15:29:04

Galen and Charleyg Tykes!!! wink

Maw That Hattie needs a proper bed. Poor, neglected girl, my heart goes out to her. No wonder she's fierce. grin

soop Wed 12-Dec-18 15:31:03

Nannytopsy Take it easy with the shopping. I'm about to empty and tidy two further book shelves. A devil for punishment - me.

Charleygirl5 Wed 12-Dec-18 15:45:24

soop I agree, as well as a proper bed that dog also needs a decent meal inside her. She does look half starved and that will not help her temperament.

soop the class A drugs that Galen and I mean are really just painkillers.

Panache Wed 12-Dec-18 17:12:35

Just a garbled message this late afternoon..... as having been sort of dragged backwards on my Surgery visit, together with the last Dental Appointment of the year simply setting my teeth on edge! ...........however it does not take a lot of the Christmas hustle and bustle to send me scurrying back to my Home sweet home..............peace and warmth........divine!!!

But before packing up my kitbag for this evening I must send every good wish for those results of yours tomorrow Dragonfly........... please know I shall be rooting for you.

You Too Corner and hopefully the end of the darned tooth and face ache you have suffered, here`s hoping for a straightforward extraction, and a thorough rapid healing afterwards.

Sending you both virtual hugs ........
