I became a great grandma four years ago courtesy of DGD2 she has since had another child who is two so am now great grandma to two lovely little boys
It is lovely but what I can never get used to is being mother of a grandfather so so strange.
Enjoy your great grandchild somehow it is the same as being a grandmother only you don't seem to get to look after them so much
I can remember my great grandma as an old lady sitting in front of the fire constantly knitting socks.One day as she was sitting holding my new born brother on her knee she told me off for standing looking at him from behind his head because she said it would make him ''Squinty eyed''.Old fashioned saying

My gran and mother used to say the same thing pinkprincess, I thought ' squinty eyed ' was a northern saying ?

That's wonderful news - an early Christmas present. My BIL & SIL have 2 GGC - one they are very involved with so enjoy the little one when he/she comes along.

Just seen this Katek, congratulations. You will no doubt be besotted, like us. We now have three GGC. One as yet unnamed! Like you, we have a little GS who is 4, the others range from 29 downwards. AND, being married to a GGpa, is not so bad really is it?
Let us know when he/she arrives.
