Went shopping yesterday, the weather was foul but the shops were quieter and I got what I wanted quite quickly.

I have an eye test today with the Outside Clinic, appointment between 12.30 and 5.30, they will phone an hour before they arrive.

Good morning from a dreary south east, I've been up since 5.30, gd stayed the night and she rose rather early and put her Roald Dahl, audio book on, her bedroom being just across the landing from ours, we woken to the strains of "Matilda", which got louder and louder, must give her the earphones next time. Just back from the school run and enjoying a cup of coffee before I face the day. Gym and Sainsburys and possibly a sleep, not sure what order.

I hope your eye test goes ok Annie, glad you are posting again.

Dullish here in the NW and doesn't look very promising.
I can't move so far for fear of missing the parcel post which is now the norm for this time of the year or it means a queue at the main post office if I happen to be out.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Late for me this morning. Awake half the night sneezing and blowing my nose! It is cold grey and misty in South Yorkshire. DH is repainting the kitchen today, so my baking day has gone by the board. Fortunately there is not a lot of wall area that is not covered by cupboards so it shouldn’t take him long. Have a good day folks.

We are getting ready to go to Australia on 3rd December to spend Christmas with our daughter and family. We are staying in a hotel nearby to where they live to give us all some space!!

As greyduster says, it's grey, damp and dismal here at the moment, though the heavy mist is gradually lifting now.
Those of you under the weather, I hope you soon start to feel better.
Hope all goes well with your eye test, Annie and that you are not waiting too long before they arrive to do it.
Popping out shortly to post a letter, then coming back to do a spot of baking - thinking of doing Mary Berry's fruit and marmalade cake. I made it for the first time a few weeks ago and it was delicious. There's a bit of a story to that cake, I along with many of our coffeee group ladies, made or bought cakes to sell at a special fundraising coffee morning. Rather a lot were made, however, so quite a few of us bought our cakes back! Made it quite an expensive fruit cake.

P.S. It was worth the effort though as we made £150 for the charity we were supporting.

Morning all its a dark damp cloudy day on the isle of dogs today hope the weekend is brighter.

Grey November day here but have still managed some pruning back and dead heading between talking to passing neighbours and dog walkers. Happy birthday travelsafar. Like Sar53 I still think of Friday as fish day so have taken some out of the freezer for tonight. Coffee and toast finished so off to the shops. Hope all who are under the weather feel better soon and a satisfactory Friday to everyone else.

Had biopsy taken yesterday so waiting a week for results and trying to stay upbeat.

Grey and cold in Milton Keynes today. Day to myself, grandaughter has been up all night projectile vomiting so DD is staying home from work with her today. She seems much better this morning thank goodness. Heading up to North Wales to see Mother later tonight for her birthday weekend. 88 years old on Tuesday. All packed and ready so going to spend day doing nothing other than catching up on reading and a couple of TV shows I've recorded. Have a good day everyone.

Happy Birthday Travelsafar! I hope the day brings forth cake and bubbles. I haven't stuck my nose out the door yet so it could be tropical in Aberdeenshire but I fear not. It looks cold and is still windy.

Hello all and a huge Happy Birthday to T. Enjoy. I just love bdays. Bright grey and tolerable temperature here up North. I'm still slogging on with my house renovation (back well broken - the job not mine yet!). My joy of the day is discovering I can stand up for part of the next painting job. Thought it was on knees and back chore. Hallelujah. However I first have to learn how to use quick drying foam filler. Wish me luck! What it says on the tin is often over simplistic when I've tried the actual. Whew!

Good Morning from a damp, grey, wet California! Most unusual I must say, but badly needed, so no complaints here. We have younger DGD for a couple of nights, so will have to plan some fun indoor activities.
