Cordless vacuum cleaners

Use Dyson all the time now and 'real' vacuum cleaner mostly stays in cupboard except for more thorough cleaning eg when visitors due. Only problem is the charge on Dyson doesn't last very long, never has. Supposed to last 20-25 mins but if it makes it to 10 mins then that's a good day. Still wouldn't be without it so light and easy to use.

Recently got a GTech hoover and it's absolutely brilliant - also got the hand held GTech that's great for stairs, ceilings, etc. You can see exactly how much dirt there is in the see through part and it's very easy to empty. The brush is very easy to clean - there's a groove to run scissors along to cut hair that's become wrapped around the brush. Can't fault it.

I have a vax air and a shark,both came with 1 battery each,i do like them both but the shark is the most powerful by far! I like the Vax air because its really light but only good for a 'light' clean.... And needs emptying ALOT of else it won't pick up. But i have a very busy house with 3dogs.... So i do ask alot of my Hoovers ?

My Dyson is fantastic. No more worries about tripping over the cord when doing the stairs and it is so light to get up to those spiders webs.

Polly48....I’ve owned a Gtech Air Ram for three years...have arthritis in hands and this is so light and easy to use...it’s the Best Buy I’ve made in years. Just had to replace the battery..quite expensive , but still only amounts to a few pence a day. Would recommend 5Star.

I actually thought my cordless Dyson Animal was called that because it looked like an elephant. The I found out much later it had a pet hair attachment -Duh! I use it in conjunction with a corded Vax , but if buying again would choose the most powerful Dyson cordless, and be happy with that on its own

I have the latest Dyson V10. It was expensive but I love it. The charge time is much better than on the previous models. Pick up is also great.

Dysons are badly designed and clog up quickly. I have used the Shark and love it.

I have the Vax too. Very convenient and an economic purchase indeed. My slight downside is that I'm having difficulty emptying it. Think that might be my inadequacy rather than the machine but I'm working on it.

I have that one downstairs and the Pink one upstairs. ....That was a Special Offer when they first came out !

GTECHS are Brilliant in my opinion....I have one upstairs and one downstairs plus a hand held for stairs furniture etc.
They are Fab.

Madeline I believe the Shark cordless comes with two batteries so when one runs out you just put it on charge and switch to the other one. I don’t think any of the others have this feature.

Mabon1 yes the Dyson are very expensive but we thought the outlay would be worth it as we previously had a corded Dyson and were very happy with it. We were wrong, it definitely isn’t worth the price.

Gtech is the best. We've had ours for a couple I'd heard now and is so light and convenient to store. We got the hand one with it.

All of you people buying Dysons must have a few quid as they are so expensive. My Dyson died a few months ago I replaced it with a sale price Vax - it is light and brilliant.

Once you have a cordless you’ll never go back to a corded one. I’ve got a Dyskn. My daughter did lots of research and Shark are the best by far. Expensive but worth it.

My son has a HiLife robot vacuum and it is brilliant, you sit back and watch it do the work!

Agree My dyson doesn’t last more than 15 mins. I’ve two dogs and it just gets clogged all the time. Pointless

I have a shark with a very long cord. I didn't buy a cordless because I just know I won't charge it /it will run out before I'm finished / the battery will not hold charge etc... (eternal pessimist me, lol).

I love my Gtech Ram, it's the best present I ever gave myself! No more dragging a reluctant and heavy vacuum everywhere, no more tripping over leads. Out it comes, quick push round and it's done. We have two dogs who shed all year round and it copes with that. Needs emptied more often but its the work of seconds to do.

The new Dyson fully charges in 30 minutes if they are taking longer it's not the new model.

I bought a joint package of a Gtech airam and the handheld model for stairs etc and absolutely love both. So light and easy to use. Don’t know if I’m supposed to say but I purchased from Lakeland so have a three year guarantee.

I must admit I was put off the Bosch by having a corded Bosch which the head kept refusing to rotate and Bosch weren't remotely interested just expected me to buy a replacement head which was a different design confirming a fault with the one supplied. I also had a Bosch dishwasher that stopped working after 13 months and was condemned without them even looking at it. The best they could offer was £100 off a replacement. I'll stay well away from all their products in future.

GTECH every time. My DD has a Dyson, but we got a GTECH on offer with a hand held and between the two we can do the whole house in a morning. DD rates the Dyson but says it takes ages to charge and she'd rather use ours.
