Anyone ready to start knitting royal baby jackets?

annsixty Sat 20-Oct-18 19:17:18

I think she is very proud of her mother and her heritage.
I sincerely hope she is not concerned enough to act on it and I am not her closest fan but that is too much.

Jalima1108 Sat 20-Oct-18 19:21:55

Personally I think she looks like the cat that has swallowed the cream.
Do you think, though, that we all looked like that when we were in the first 'glow' of married life - or the first glow of a wanted pregnancy annsixty?

It does wear off after a bit

merlotgran Sat 20-Oct-18 19:28:01

I don't understand why people object to her wearing dark colours. They suit her and she looks great.

Kate wears a lot of pale pink which doesn't do her any favours at all. She also looks better in darker colours IMO. Her outfit for Eugenie's wedding was spot on.

I sometimes think the royal style advisors are colour blind.

Jalima1108 Sat 20-Oct-18 19:32:53

Pale pink suits little girls.

annsixty Sat 20-Oct-18 19:50:16

Perhaps you are right Jalima but I don't think I did..
I didnt get the catch of the century with all that goes with it.
I told you I wouldn't be popular, but then I seldom am.
Just rather jaundiced.

Jalima1108 Sat 20-Oct-18 19:52:05

I didnt get the catch of the century with all that goes with it.
I thought I had!
But found out he had less money than me.

Anniebach Sat 20-Oct-18 19:54:58

I watched the opening of the .invictus games. She looked drab , doesn’t suit her . I don’t believe she has received racist abuse by mail, either email or snail mail. Only family and very close friends can make contact with them. For snail mail there are codes included on the envelope, no code then opened in their mail room.

There has been criticism of her by black women after all she has said about her pride in her heritage she has her hair straightened.

Yes newly married and now pregnant but that hand holding is irritating . I think she is deliberately going against the rest of the family , gets attention .

Anniebach Sat 20-Oct-18 19:56:16

I haven’t noticed Kate wearing a lot of pale pink.

annsixty Sat 20-Oct-18 19:57:02

And Harry looked as if he had been transported from Ruritania. In this day and age such awards should be banned to the last but two centuries.

Jalima1108 Sat 20-Oct-18 20:09:21

oh dear.

other women straighten their hair
Other women perm their hair to make it curly

And Harry looked as if he had been transported from Ruritania.
Why? He's wearing a suit and tie.

Anniebach Sat 20-Oct-18 20:23:25

Yes women do straighten their hair, the criticism comes for her not keeping her hair as it was before,’ the pride in her mixed race ‘ she spoke so much about

Bridgeit Sat 20-Oct-18 20:26:49

What happened ‘to sisterhood’ more like ’bitchyhood’
Come on ladies , think how you would feel if your children were being discussed in this manner. It’s actually very disappointing especially from coming from those of us who are old enough to know better.

Bridgeit Sat 20-Oct-18 20:30:35

Are ladies who have perms trying to deny their culture roots!

annsixty Sat 20-Oct-18 20:30:50

I was referring to the uniform at the war memorial.
Please Jalima don't let us fall out, I value your opinion and enjoy your posts.
I have just changed my H to put him to bed which involves changing his " nappy" and dressing him again, Meghan will never face doing that or spoon feeding him after a stroke.
No self pitying just ststing facts.

annsixty Sat 20-Oct-18 20:33:40

Yes Bridgeit, I am old enough to know better, I am also old enough to be able to state what is my own opinion, gained after many years and experiences.

annsixty Sat 20-Oct-18 20:34:57

Leaving this now.

merlotgran Sat 20-Oct-18 20:35:09

Jeepers! She's criticised for straightening her hair?

I had an afro perm in the seventies. Was I denying roots? Sorry about the pun.

Anniebach Sat 20-Oct-18 20:39:35

I said women in the black community, I am not black, I couldn’t care less if she straightens it, I do wish she would have some cut off though.

As for sisterhood v bitchyhood, no difference to giving opinions on anyone in the public eye surely ,

Bridgeit. I await you posting on sisterhood when ever any woman who puts themselves in the public eye is criticised

muffinthemoo Sat 20-Oct-18 20:41:41

Annie, it was sent although obviously intercepted. See www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/02/22/prince-harry-meghan-markle-anthrax-scare-white-powder-sent-couple/

Very sad and goes without saying, totally unacceptable and criminal.

Back to goss: I think Kate looks well in pale pink. She wore it often during her pregnancies, I remember a particularly lovely Alexander McQueen gown at a state occasion. The future Queen can't carry out all her public engagements dressed like she is going to a funeral.

Bridgeit Sat 20-Oct-18 20:42:02

I feel for your situation Annsixty, there will be thousands of woman who will not have to do what you sadly have to & thousand who will. Would you actually any feel happier in your life if hers is made worse?

merlotgran Sat 20-Oct-18 20:43:24

I do wish she would have some cut off though

Why?

annsixty Sat 20-Oct-18 20:46:01

Of course not. Just very tired and very cynical, apologies to all.
I will feel less jaundiced tomorrow, as long as I do not look at newspapers or news broadcasts.

Anniebach Sat 20-Oct-18 20:46:15

muffin, all their mail is intercepted , yes it is sad when people do such things.

I think Kate dresses in the right style and colours, she chooses British designers ,

SueDonim Sat 20-Oct-18 20:46:29

Muffinthemoo I read a theory that she's wearing a lot of dark colours to minimise a pretty minimal bump! There are probably as many theories as people. grin

As for Meghan straightening her hair - Oprah, Michelle Obama, anyone?

Bridgeit Sat 20-Oct-18 20:47:14

Annie it’s not just woman in the public eye, I am the same in my community ,It saddens me that we criticise so readily & so superficially .
