Pressure Sore?!

It doesn't feel like a blister, it actually aches.
Would anyone mind if I posted a pic?
(I'm one of those annoying people who goes on about their ailments, it seems!)
I'm thinking cellulitis may be the culprit.

Misadventure I had cellulitis last year simply from itching a toe I didn’t even realise I d opened the skin a tiny bit when scratching it In a very short space of time I had a climbing red swelling half way up my leg went to doctors told it was cellulitis and had a felt tip pen mark the red area a couple of days hence redness and swelling up to my knee put on stronger anti biotics woke up next day it was half way up my thigh and I was sent off to hospital for an anti biotic drip, after that it gradually retreated but very scary as I could almost watch it climbing up my leg

MissAdventure.... it is highly unlikely that you've got a pressure sore.

If you have got Diabetes, any sore or scrape would take a little longer to heal that someone without Diabetes.

I'm 59, have not got Diabetes, and I had a sore part on my heel from where a shoe had rubbed. I had a blister-type wound there, which took about 3 weeks to heal completely.

Don't be alarmed by some of the replies on here, but do get it looked at. Let us know how you get on.

Yes the biro is a good idea to show spread, I did that last time i had it. Of course it may not be cellulitis, hope it isn’t, but needs watching.

Right neither a GP or District Nurse is relevant here at a weekend. You need to get to A/E as it sounds from your description as if you need intravenous antibiotics. Just get a move on (meant kindly) and sort this out. Take an overnight kit in case. Draw a biro line at the furthest red bit too so they can judge the spread from the time you drew the line. I dealt with such scenarios many times as an RN and the sooner the better is best practice. Let us know how you get on

I don’t want to be scary but my Dad developed gangrene as a result of a small cut on his foot. Don’t leave it.

I presume that like me, MiniMoon has a medical background, totally agree that you need to be seen soon.

MissA next Wednesday is too long to wait. Please ring them back and tell them it's an emergency. Your foot sounds infected if it's hot, throbbing and the skin is tight and shiny.

MissA. Cellulitis, which I have at present, a very painful condition needs anti biotics as soon as possible. I am on my second lot of 2000mg per day and things not really improving. Try and get medical advice.

I've made a docs appt, but not until next Wednesday.
I hate going to the doctors, but well, sepsis is a consideration.
I was just stunned when I took the plaster off on the second day.

It could also be cellulitis. The bacteria that causes it can get into your skin through the tiniest of scrapes that you wouldn't necessarily notice.
In either case the sooner you get treatment, the better. See a GP directly.

I think its more like a stage 3! My foot is hot, aching, and the skin is open in quite a hole.

It could be. Pressure damage can be caused in as little as five hours.
Here is a description of a stage one pressure ulcer.

Stage 1 sores are not open wounds. The skin may be painful, but it has no breaks or tears. The skin appears reddened and does not blanch (lose colour briefly when you press your finger on it and then remove your finger). In a dark-skinned person, the area may appear to be a different colour than the surrounding skin, but it may not look red. Skin temperature is often warmer. And the stage 1 sore can feel either firmer or softer than the area around it.

I hope it isn't, pressure ulcers take time to heal.
