How clean is your oven? Help!

It just wouldn’t work in our house gmelon. You have just given me a mental picture of my lot at the table. It would be cries of ‘seriously?’ we have to wait until you have cleaned the oven before we can eat? ?

I didn't believe my pyrolytic oven (self cleaning) would really work until I saw the results for myself. Wouldn't be without it now.

Anyone buying a new oven should seriously consider spending a little bit more for one.

It's bad enough having to do the cooking - you mean I've got to clean the b****y oven as well ?!?!?!

We have two single ovens, one is always very clean as it only gets used when the family visit and I'm cooking for a crowd. The other is used daily, and when I can no longer see through the glass door I clean it - the door and shelves anyway, sometimes even the whole oven. I once got a cleaning company in to do it (Oven-U) they were fantastic and were able to clean areas I can't easily reach. But sadly there is no longer a local franchise in my area, so it's back to OvenPride and Brillo pads.

Even if you don't clean the oven 5 seconds wipes the door with no effort. In my humble opinion that beats scrubbing it. ?

I roasted a chicken today - fat splashes everywhere. But after lunch, the still warm oven was easy to wipe clean with a rub of Astonish on a cloth. It takes virtually no time at all and it's lovely always to have a clean oven.

I'm glad to hear I'm not alone! ?

The road to a dirty oven is paved with good intentions

I had a professional clean after my son lived in my house and left the oven in a terrible state. Well worth the money. Was charged £52.00. Now I keep on top of it. I also use Astonish, and the 'bag cleaner'. I was going to have a professional clean every now and again, but as yet haven't needed too.

I should have also added I put the glass in the oven door, and racks in the dishwasher and they come out sparkling!

The cleaner where you put the shelves in a bag contains sodium hydrochloride. It does work but you have to be very careful....

I have a double oven and pay a professional every year. Best thing I do. Bit that expensive and they get it sparkling.

Pyrolitic ovens all the way! They are brilliant.
