dont you just hate waiting to go out!!!

I get angry if someone is really late, and I'm waiting 'with me hat in me hand' as my mum used to say.
I like to be ready roughly on time.

Jalima I just read your earlier comment. I must have flicked through too fast. I think our husbands might say they are married to the same woman. I often come downstairs with nail varnish still drying. lol. Perhaps we need to start earlier.

I must add I am usually on time. Perhaps its because men just get ready whereas ad others have pointed out women will tidy round etc .

My mum would think nothing of arriving an hour or so before the time we had agreed, and sat there drumming her fingers..

I had an aunt and uncle who always arrived hours before the time they were expected.

They arrived one Sunday at 8.30am, we were not even all up and dressed and my father was so fed up with them that when he saw them on the doorstep he told them to go away and not return until midday.

It worked, they arrived much later from then on, but years later my uncle would still tell me and others the story with bemusement, as if I hadn't been there. He never understood the problem, because he said he and his wife would have been quite happy sitting in the living room and keeping out of the way.

My mum and me had a few heated words about her arriving so early.
She would say "you're not even dressed!"
Yes mother, that's because I still have an hour to get ready in!

What used to annoy me was that DH only had to get himself ready and out of the house.
OK years and years ago he would be I/c packing the car if we were going on holiday and making sure it had petrol etc, but.....
who tidied the kitchen, loaded and turned on the dishwasher, made the beds, straightened the sitting room, organised the children, locked up , went back to check the gas was off, locked up again?
Mugging of course. Latterly I had to help him get ready but even although I didn’t expect any input from him, I still used to feel worn to a frazzle by the time we left!

Further to the post about lunch guests arriving early, our worst was one Sunday in the early years of our marriage when we woke up in our usual bleary eyed state to find the friends we were expecting the following Sunday for lunch, smiling expectantly on the doorstep!
It was lunch in the pub that day. ???

I have two sisters. One is 'hurry up we need to get going'. The other one is 'Oh, we've got plenty of time, let's have another cup of coffee...'
I am never late and rarely early.

Oh I recognise that scenario. Once in the middle of all the packing, emptying bins, dressing children etc he started to mend the handle on the kitchen door.

When I protested he said “Well it’s got to be done sometime.” !

I'm the same if someone is picking me up - taxis for instance as they're notoriously early so I'm generally stood outside or in the hall with keys in hand (wondering if I've just got time to nip in to the loo yet again!). If we're going out together my husband is still sitting on the sofa until I actually have my coat and shoes on as he won't get ready until the last possible minute or he's waiting for me. Of course he doesn't have to do anything like the amount of stuff I have to do to get ready and go out!! It's a woman/man thing

I know somebody who is always at least half an hour late for no discernible reason. I think it is the height of arrogance to think that people should wait around until you decide to turn up, especially in winter. Like their time is more precious than yours. I'm only late if travel, or other disasters strike.

Oh, Willow, the loo thing! I always have to ‘go’ just before leaving the house. I blame my mother.

And I’m usually late. I’ve found that if I leave with plenty of time to spare all traffic lights turn to green as I approach, all drivers drive at the speed limit and there’s not a cyclist or tractor to be seen, but if I leave a couple of minutes later than planned the reverse happens.

I am always ready with at least 30 minutes to spare. Partner on the other hand is a Justin Time!

I am always ready early to go out, while DH was the complete opposite. How he managed to faff around for so long I shall never know, especially if we were going away for a few days, or on holiday! I used to tell him we were leaving an hour earlier, so that he would be ready; if we wanted to leave by 11am I used to say let's be ready for the off by 10!

I'm with you tea and cake, I hate it when others turn up half an hour late and often don't even apologise or offer an explanation. But then I'm always half an hour early, so I suppose its partly my own fault if I'm waiting an hour! Eldest granddaughter was told I would pick her up at a certain time and please be outside ready. As I pulled up in the car exactly on time, she called out of the bedroom window 'Just going to wash my hair Nan - won't be long!' Grrrr!

I always have to go to the loo before I go anywhere and it has to be at the last minute so I can say to myself "This is my going out wee"! When we go shopping I also have to go as soon as we get there and then I don't think about it again............Yes, I know I am daft but it works for me!

Petra - Ive only ever had my nails done with gel polish twice, a couple of years apart and both times it completely ruined them. It took months for them to grow back. I love to see it on other people, but I don't really understand how it works. Are your nails stripped each time you go and what are they like underneath?

Yes Petra this sounds good, tell us more, although I quite like changing colours.

I’m with you on the gel nails.
Great while they last but it ruins the nail underneath when you remove them.
Mine likewise took months to recover.
