Morning to you all and yes a very early one from lazy ole me!!!
However I come bearing news from our lovely Soop.
She has asked that I say hi to you from her as she is having lots of issues with her kindle and wished she was back on her own P.C.
Hopefully this superb weather is helping them enjoy their break.
Quite frankly Charley for what its worth we too think that your Vet`s bill is really "over the top"......just to make you perhaps rethink the situation .....we had our corgi Scampi going through a tooth extraction and descaling many years ago now (far too long to remember the bill) however sadly we feel it was such a complete waste as the poor fellow lived only months afterwards,he was 16.
We again loved him to death and would have given our last penny but it seriousely made me think that perhaps the vet could have chosen a kinder route by saying he was best left at that age.
You just never know.Of course Tara is worth every penny for you but seriously consider all the pro`s and cons I think would be my advice.
Indeed Willow and Cornergran we are pleased to recieve some reprieve regarding my man`s health and to "celebrate" ......making full use of this superb weather he actually managed to make some headway in the badly neglected paddock..............so he can rest and have some peace of mind for a little while.
Amazing how the greenery is still growing including those weeds!
There seems a little space where our Ann usually sits and I am getting just a little perturbed ...........hoping all is reasonably well and there are no further massive problems.Thinking very much of you.
So a big cheery smile from Soop and another from me ...........hope the day is kind to all.

Soop's super supportive kitchen.
(1001 Posts)Crumbs, opening a new kitchen is a bit of a responsibility. I hope everyone finds it - I'll just leave the door ajar.
Bubbles and cake on the side - enjoy!
It’s lovely to see you back in The Kitchen, Panache. Good news about Mr P too. Thank you for forwarding Soop’s message and I’m sure she’ll get to grips with the kindle before too long. Enjoy what seems to be a nice autumn day.
Back in my comfy seat, thankyou for saving it.
Just had a review and assessment from a new social worker.
My cynical side came to the fore when I opened the door, she looked about 16, long plait down her back and a flower embroidered bag.
She was lovely and very helpful, we have decided on another day of daycare a week and a review after a few weeks when the big decision may be made.
She totally understood my reluctance but could also see that it is inevitable.
We are now going to have tea and biscuits, none to spare I am sorry to say.
It is a beautiful day ,sunny and a blue sky.
A sigh of relief it seems for just another wee while Ann but I can understand how you felt opening the door to what seemed like a young school girl........another darn side showing up our age........grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
But yes,a lovely day and that does help.
Lovely seeing you here amongst us Bella .........the seat next to mine goes begging!
ann I am delighted to hear that the social worker had some common sense. I do want you to have a life and not be so care worn that you cannot enjoy life any more. I understand your reluctance but please, please, please think again and consider bringing the inevitable forward
Good to hear from you ann, guess we’ve all been guilty of jumping to conclusions about people, delighted you seem to have been wrong this time. The very hard decision will be easier with caring professional support.
Thank you for passing on soops message panache, i also hope their break is just as they had hoped - or better
Funny old day here today, much cooler, this mornings heavy cloud gave way to a bright blue sky this afternoon. The major pleasure today, other than the glass of chilled white by my elbow, was getting the washing dry. Any suggestions how I can get a life?
.
Evening all!
Nice to see those lovely long posts frtom youb once again Panache, and thank you for relaying Soop`s message, I hope that damned Kindle soon starts to behave for her!
Ann, glad to hear that you got a kindly social worker, despite her youthful look.
Can`t remember if I welcomed you back CharleyG, if I forgot it must have been the thought of the colossal vet`s bill that`s looming, so sorry, and welcome back.
On a lighter note, my 3 newest pics of Max.
Max is just gorgeous callgirl
What a lovely, smiley baby he is callgirl you must all get so much pleasure from him.
I haven't opened the curtains yet, putting off the start to the usual day, so can't report on the weather but I hope the soop's have had the lovely days we have had recently, it has been really sunny and warm.
They really deserve it to set them up for the winter.
Max is a handsome young man and he loves all of his toys around him. Most are bigger than he is and he is not phased.
It is sunny here but 2C- just lovely. Today I am waiting for the aerial man because my downstairs TV has given up. Most days I appear to be almost standing at my door handing out money. I have yet to pay the young whizz kid who sorted out this machine and is returning on Tuesday with two leads for it.
Tara cannot decide whether to go out or stay indoors with me. The aerial man will decide for her and she will be well away.
Glad you got re-connected to tus Charley - it is so frustrating when there is a problem. Thank goodness for whizz-kids!
Just had the British heart Foundation chaps come for the two sofas we have donated - so I can stop fretting about whether they could find us due to the extensive road works at the front of our house.
The sofas are in very good condition and should fetch a decent price in their furniture store, even though they are 16 years old. I have never found them comfortable so am not sorry to see them go but DH found them OK.
Eldest DGD is having her first driving lesson this morning. Hope it goes well. Their village has virtually no public transport - just a school bus morning and afternoon - so life has been difficult for her various activities. It will be much easier once she can drive.
Hope all the poorly GNs are feeling a bit better and managing to enjoy the lovely weather we are blessed with. Thinking of the soops Panache and of course Ann especially.
I have not forgotten you lot. Far from it. Internet connection a bit iffy. Have all ready lost a long post. Cannot spend too much time buggerating. MacS deserves better. When home, I shall catch up for real. Took a good pic of Eilean Donan castle yesterday. Much love to you ALL.
soop go on enjoying. You deserve it!
Soop have a lovely time and enjoy yourselves don’t worry about all of us we will all be here waiting to hear all about it when you get back and to give you lots of hugs .
soop it has been years since we last saw Eilean Donan but I expect it has not changed a bit and is as beautiful a spot as ever. Enjoy your holiday!
Lovely day here too Charleygirl. Himself has been sat at his planting bench all day potting up penstemon and lavender cuttings which I hope will all take. Gardener friend went round the garden collecting all the plant pieces for him and I have been making the tea so that seems a fair division of labour!
Cornergran another one here who got all the washing cleared - now for the ironing!
Callgirl little Max is very cute! He and his playmates all have identical big smiles so that you can't help joining in.
Gagagran glad your sofas have been collected, that is another off your list. We also generally send things to BHF and have been quite surprised at how much has been made - and the extra as we gift aid it.
ann so glad that your meeting with the SW went as well in spite of misgivings. Whenever we are faced with such young looking people Himself usually says to me "Goodness, they have opened another new box".
Hope you will get all the help you both need.
Well it would seem that it is official, winter is almost upon us. We have both received our official flu vaccine letters so have something else to look forward to! It really doesn't seem like a year since the last one anyway. I hope we all stay free of bugs, germs, infections etc because we have had enough of late!
Quick pop in as am off to SIL birthday brunch. Basket of his favourite raspberry & marzipan muffins in hand.
They are rather good, so I shall leave the spares on the counter
It is freezing here, this morning! Several people around have succumbed to the "bug" so next Fridays 'flu jab cannot come quickly enough for me!
Taking advantage of soops absence to mention the unmentionable.....I have made the Christmas cakes (delayed by 3 weeks!) and the Christmas puddings. Next stop, sloe gin.
I do rather like the culinary aspects of autumn.
Wishing everyone a calm and happy (bug-free!) day.
Goodness chaos, you’re organised. Last week in October for cake making here, although only for two people now so nothing huge. Only one of ours likes C- cake and he makes his own.
Still snuffling and coughing although feel OK, Mr C is fine, how does that happen?
Now why are you checking on us soop? It’s a time to think about the two of you.
We’ve 50 years to look forward to next year, where does the time go? Us old miseries aren’t party animals so plan a few quiet days away, not sure when.
Max looks so happy callgirl, a joy.
Not much doing here today. There’s a mountain of bed clothes needing ironing. I’m hoping Mr C will volunteer, he often does. How lucky am I?
The sun may be shining here but it is perishingly cold. The washing machine is on as usual.
I waited in all day yesterday for the aerial man to come. I now have a working TV downstairs for which I am grateful but my Humax recorder has packed up permanently. I have lost so much I was saving for later. Ah well, I must buy another- not difficult- the minor problem is I need to find a 15 year old whizz kid to set it up for me.
Years ago we had a wonderful holiday in near Eilean Donan castle - we rented a cottage in Dornie. The weather was hot and sunny for nearly 2 weeks, very unusual. The only bad part was the midgies on Skye.
It's a beautiful area - still got lots of photos.
Just flying through to mention that we too are awaiting another grandbaby: number 8. She is due beginning of November. I'm a bit anxious as DD is nearly 43 and things went drastically wrong last time. Elective C-section this time much to DD's disappointment but it should avoid a lot of problems. Fingers crossed.
DH is making crab apple jelly with the huge abundance of fruit from our tree. I'll leave in a pot when it is ready. This has been a very fruitful autumn in our unkempt garden!
Hope you all have a restful day!
`Morning all and I seem to be mainly sleeping most of my days and therefore I seem not to know which day is which!!
My man has insisted I go out every afternoon for a run in the car, stopping off at some favourite joints where I can get some strength into my legs plus enjoy some fresh air,the gorgous sunshine came just at the right time.
We finished each visit with a cuppa or treat at a favourite tea room...............and I came back home to sleep some more!!!
Still better than there on a Hospital ward!
Such a lovely chappie young Max Callgirl you have every right to be proud.
I think we may just have beaten you to the Golden anniversary Cornergran...........ours is this year!
I seem to have missed out on your trip to Caldey Island and that is most annoying.Have you another visit planned?
What a run of bad luck you seem to be having Charleygirl so utterly frustrating..........these things do tend to come in threes we have found.Still the main thing must be you are back in touch with us lot as our Soop would say!!
How could you Chaos mention the C word even in my presence.............and so organised too.Perhaps you have a free moment to get us sorted, for believe me "disorganised" is our middle name!
Thinking of you thoroughly enjoying yourselves Soop and MacS..........there is no need to rush back as the Kitchen is ticking over very nicely..........however I have had no hand in it as I sit back and snooze!!
Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday.
Dear Panache, I hope you have another lovely trip out this afternoon. I don’t know what your Pembrokeshire weather is like but the London suburbs are bathed in sunshine. Enjoy your outing in some lovely scenery and little by little hopefully get some strength back.
cornergran Our Golden was earlier this month and we spent it in a villa on a lovely peaceful Greek Island.

Hope today's trip out has been enjoyable panache, no matter if you need to sleep afterwards, enjoy every minute.
I think it is cold here today, Mr C disagrees - but then we often differ over temperatures. Sun is just peeping out so that will help. I thought I'd do some sorting. You know that point when you wish you'd never started but leaving it as it is isn't an option? You guessed it, that's where I'm at. Oh well, it can't take much longer
.
Oh dear charley, it never rains and all that. I have a theory that electrical items talk to each other and decide when they are going to fail, it always happens in batches here too.
Right, onwards, I won't be comfortable leaving the current mess. Sometimes I wish I had bypassed the tidy gene
