Anyone else feel the same?
I do have dc and have recently become a grandmother.

So you are saying that 12 Gransnetters lied then, janemar?

Jalima1108 Tue 21-Aug-18 21:16:28

I didn't offer wine in case you're all teetotal

That's OK Jalima, Lazigirl's bringing the wine. I'll get the kettle on so there's a brew for anyone who's teetotal smile

I'm not sure I can cope with all that knitting, retirement and Archers talk unless I've had a couple of wine Hang about I like the Archers hmm

wine for me please! And save me a bit of that cupcake. I’ve got a wine cellar, Lazigirl. It’s actually where the coal used to be kept but I’m posher now.

I think I must be too old even for Gransnet. DD2 and family went to a castle today and she’s just sent me a video of DGS2 jousting “like you used to do at school, Mum”. What I actually did was fencing. grin

No, Jalimall, I did not say the 12 were lying.

GN investigated it and said it was not edited, so was it thought that GN were lying?

I think the 12 that say it was changed just remembered it wrongly. It is easy to make a mistake.

My friend was a Grandmother at 48 and she kept quiet about about it as she also found she was being judged as too old for things she still liked to do.

As to the Archers I still listen occasionally, but it seems to me there are plenty on GN who listen regularly but knitters or people like me who have knitted so many garments that I'm quite an expert, don't appear much on GN.

Bye the way knitting is being Creative and whilst knitting most of us do something else like watch TV or listen to the radio and I also think a lot when knitting, the hands moving and the brain being constantly engaged in THINK mode.

Perhaps some on Mumsnet should try it.

I kept this thread from MN because I think it gives a good balance,
"AIBU To ask how much you expect to see your adult children?" From a young mother to older parents.
Sorry couldn't do a full link.
The op is a bit hostile, but most of the other replies (9 pages) show that they have a friendly relations between the generations.
