At the moment HQ say they can't find anything to suggest an edit.

Only lots of long standing posters knowing what they saw.

This is leaving a weird taste in my mouth but I have no idea what the purpose of allowing an edit and then denying it would be.

I don't think it was changed. I thought so at first after it was mentioned but when I looked again more closely I decided the 12.44 comment about knitting and the Archers was what I'd read. Hard now to remember the OP!! Why would it be changed if the 12.44 post wasn't removed? Makes no sense!

Actually she didn't mention knitting at all (but retirement) - someone else did. I think people are getting paranoid for no reason!

No she didn't. What she said was "I feel very now for starting this thread". And that was in response to a long post by M0nica which roundly put her in her place regarding stereotypes. So Bee63 was embarrassed that she had evidently been guilty of pigeonholing grandmothers, people who are retired, people who listen to the Archers and so on. All of which were mentioned by her and others, in the thread that she had started which was now embarrassing her.

I'm curious as to why Bee hasn't returned to solve the mystery.

Earlier in the thread she responded a few times to various posters but since the 'confusion' has remained mysteriously silent.

Can I just put in a plea regarding OP’s not returning to their posts for ages!
It strikes me that life can sometimes get in the way of updating GN! it did with me the one time I started a thread! It wasn’t a fake post, and I didn’t return because I went into hospital. Others may have similar life events that prevent them checking back on their thread! So please don’t jump to the wind up opinion straight away?
I mention this as someone has already raised this as an issue.

Exactly pollyp! Why indeed? As for anyone saying that a dozen people can't all be suffering from false memory syndrome, well I think they probably can be. Someone mentions that the OP has been edited, someone else reads that mention and thinks, Oh yes, I think maybe it has - they then post in support of the first mention. Now there are two people who believe it's been changed, and more people start to think it's true. In the end there are a dozen are so who have all convinced themselves that it must be true because, after all, surely they can't all be delusional.... (runs for cover with tin hat firmly in place)

I'm running with you, Bathsheba, as I completely agree! GNHQ have confirmed what we thought, that nothing's been changed, and I can't see any reason on this earth for them to lie about it.

I think bee's probably hiding somewhere with her tin hat on as well, having watched the conspiracy theory evolve.

Why cant people accept they are wrong, 12 people have one opinion, the rest of us and GNHQ have said it has not been changed. Could one of the 12 say what was to be gained by GN lying about it?
