Think I joined in 2012....

Some of the original posters are still around but not as often.

Like marmite GN was a just so helpful and comforting when my dh died just over 4 yrs ago.

I have pages and pages of virtual condolence messages form genuine people who I have never met and prob never will I still cherish those messages that helped me and I often think back to them.I will never forget them.

I've never been to a meet although had the opportunity .

I think that things just move on sometimes bit like real life, friends come and go some just pass through (maybe some were scared off) with our virtul parties..

Ohhhh .........yessssssssss the virtul parties, not that! is something that has changed...we were all as silly as one another,it was a bit of escapism, by the time the thread ended..it was like we had almost been to a real! party lol
(vodka jellies/furry handcuffs/men in uniform/inflatable friends/puncture outfits (don't ask)

I still lurk, sit quietly in a corner and bob my head up now and again and post. So much help and advice.
But another things had deff changed and it happened sinc e the Media hype, that our posts could be read anywhere, i do think that changed GN..also....I cant see (forgive me if im wrong) but there are no ones names highlighted in Blue any more!

I had lots of photos on my profile,but took them off as others did. which was a shame as you could put a face to
the name.
But I still switch on to GN every day when I'm hear and take a look see what Ive missed lol. ta ra all

Yes Bikergran, there was a bit of fun for me, looking at profiles and especially photos, pity all that has gone now. I`m blue still, but nowt worth seeing any more on there!

I too have felt ignored and invisible many a time on here. sometimes I have posted a reply to a thread,only for someone later down the thread to say the same thing and everyone else then agreeing with them. I don’t let it put me off.
By and large I enjoy GN and the different topics there is a lot of good stuff on here

It happens even more on Mumsnet, which seems to have a much bigger membership.
In a way it's better to have a smaller membership when it's a topic for discussion. You can get a proper discussion.
