Which drinks do you find best for quenching your thirst?
I like a cup of tea.

Orange juice, just a small tot, topped up with lemonade and ice. Lovely!
Also, I’m very partial to lemonade and beer shandy - once the sun is over the yard-arm, of course!

Homemade elderflower cordial with water, or San Pellegrino lemon. I didn't know they also made pomegranate, so I must look out for it.

I like iced coffee too...made with home ground beans. M&S used? to sell iced mocha in their cafe. Delish.

Not a drink but have just devoured a huge bowl of gazpacho with ice cubes. My tongue is frozen!

Tessa123 Mon 23-Jul-18 13:46:59

Oh bitter lemon, lime juice soda, elderflower and soda all nicely chilled.

OldMeg Mon 23-Jul-18 13:51:45

Another vote for tea brew

Pittcity Mon 23-Jul-18 13:52:26

I've been making iced coffee with a teaspoon of instant dissolved in a spoonful of hot water then add milk, ice and water to taste....not bad. Going to dig out the processor and see if I can whizz it up to a frappe.
I also tried a dollop of icecream in elderflower tonic water....yum!

Once the sun is over the yardarm ( no, I have no idea when that is grin) then a shot of rhubarb gin with a few dashes of
Fevertree tonic or fevertree ginger and about four ice cubes is heavenly.

Barmeyoldbat Mon 23-Jul-18 15:03:09

Oh yes Misadventure, ice cold beer shandy every time.

Elderflower and sparkling water with lots of ice.

pollyperkins Mon 23-Jul-18 15:30:08

Normally I would say tea but I've just treated myself to a long cold drink.of sparkling elderflower with a dash of orange juice and lots of ice! Now for that cup of tea!

MissAdventure Mon 23-Jul-18 15:34:54

I've just been to our local shop, but no elderflower there.
I'm looking forward to trying it when I can get to the 'big shops'.

Blackcurrant tea ...under 80p for 30 from Asda . Refreshing hot or cold and at 1 cal is great for anyone weight watching.

TerriBull Mon 23-Jul-18 16:40:03

Sparkling water with a slice of lemon or lime. I always smiled at my mother for craving tea when she was parched, not being much of a tea drinker in my younger days, but I see what she means now tea really does do the job in that respect, I only long for it pm though, not in the morning and preferably in a china cup grin

Meriel Mon 23-Jul-18 16:45:29

Pellegrino lemon and mint - yummy!

HillyN Mon 23-Jul-18 16:46:35

Legs55, I'm a great pear cider fan too; I'd love to know where you get your non-alcoholic version. I also love tonic water with ice and lemon, but cold drinks just leave me wanting more whereas a nice cup of tea seems to quench my thirst completely.

Soda water (chilled) with sprig of mint, rosemary, cuc,. lemon and strawberry.. just keep filling it up all day -keeps me cool or fruit tea ( only type I drink) or chilled iced coffee.....

Nanny41 Mon 23-Jul-18 17:22:21

Elder flower cordial and soda, or a nice cup of tea.

Grandmama Mon 23-Jul-18 17:57:57

I find a nice cup of tea - milk, no sugar - to be very, very thirst quenching. In the kitchen there's always a jug of water with lemon slices in it (topped up for a day or two then changed) and I have several glasses of it with my dinner (mid-day) but otherwise it's tea when thirsty.

Pittcity Mon 23-Jul-18 18:48:08

Made a jug of iced tea. Thank you*JackyB*. Hits the spot!

FlexibleFriend Mon 23-Jul-18 19:23:43

Tesco's own lemon and lime sparkling water. I can't drink hot drinks at all in this weather.

Jalima1108 Mon 23-Jul-18 19:26:35

A Pimms is very nice on a sunny afternoon, in the garden with friends or relatives ......

And you could get one or two of your five a day from the fruit, cucumber etc.
