Tea in all its forms - hot or cold.
I make ice tea, as follows:
As soon as you get up, put at least a litre of water on to boil. Make a jug of tea with about 3 teabags but take the bags out after no longer than 3 minutes. Squeeze a lemon or lime and stir a couple of dessertspoons of sugar into the juice (or none, if you prefer). Add this to the tea, stir again and allow to cool. Keep in fridge and drink the same day.
Unsweetened Peppermint tea is nice, too, hot or cold.
For the kids I used to make a huge jug or bowl of 1l of a fruit-based tea, cooled down with a 1l carton of red grape juice which I had previously frozen solid in the freezer. For parties I would make a punch of this in a bowl, adding some frozen raspberries. Grown-ups love it too - it's not so sweet as just the fruit juice, but more interesting than fruit juice and water.
Last year I ordered ice tea in America, at San Francisco airport. I literally got some tea with no other additives, except ice cubes. Looked and tasted awful! I was expecting the ice tea that the Americans used to serve in the 70s, full of spices, sugar and additives....
But to return to our summer and fruity drinks: How do we keep the wasps away?
