Which drinks do you find best for quenching your thirst?
I like a cup of tea.

Sorry JanT8, I've only just returned to this post. Didn't see your request. I buy GJ at Sainsburys. It's their own brand in a pinkish coloured carton. When not available - often, I might add - I revert to Tropicana which is more expensive but I've now discovered, regularly on offer.

plain tapwater which in this heat i keep in the fridge so icy cold, so refreshing.

Elderflower cordial gets my vote, very refreshing during this horrid heatwave.

I love coffee, and drink it all day, but I've never had an iced one.
Definitely on the 'to do' list!

JanT8 Mon 23-Jul-18 22:42:48

Kim19, where do you buy grapefruit juice with bits?
Or do you make it yourself?

lemongrove Mon 23-Jul-18 21:20:26

That’s what I always say Phoenix....my excuse anywaygrin

Lemongrove the sun is always over the yardarm somewhere in the world! wink

I have become very partial to Lidl DeLuxe Sicilian lemonade, it is quite tart rather than sweet.

Sparkling water ice cold,& other odd times Flavoured sparkling water ice cold again.all lidlls own brands. But if you want an instant cooling down drink, although only if you are brave enough to try one! Slush drink, instant cool down & instant Brain freeze, but so worth it,& they stay cold to the very last slurp.

Iced coffee, strong, not too sweet, quite milky, loads of ice in a pint glass. Delicious and VERY refreshing

Rosiebee Mon 23-Jul-18 19:48:27

I would have said Roses lime cordial and soda but can't find it anywhere at the moment. There was even a letter in the Telegraph yesterday about lack of supplies. Strange..... hmm

Bobdoesit Mon 23-Jul-18 19:40:59

Water and lots of it, room temperature rather than ice cold.

Jalima1108 Mon 23-Jul-18 19:26:35

A Pimms is very nice on a sunny afternoon, in the garden with friends or relatives ......

And you could get one or two of your five a day from the fruit, cucumber etc.

FlexibleFriend Mon 23-Jul-18 19:23:43

Tesco's own lemon and lime sparkling water. I can't drink hot drinks at all in this weather.

Pittcity Mon 23-Jul-18 18:48:08

Made a jug of iced tea. Thank you*JackyB*. Hits the spot!

Grandmama Mon 23-Jul-18 17:57:57

I find a nice cup of tea - milk, no sugar - to be very, very thirst quenching. In the kitchen there's always a jug of water with lemon slices in it (topped up for a day or two then changed) and I have several glasses of it with my dinner (mid-day) but otherwise it's tea when thirsty.

Nanny41 Mon 23-Jul-18 17:22:21

Elder flower cordial and soda, or a nice cup of tea.

Jang Mon 23-Jul-18 17:22:21

Soda water (chilled) with sprig of mint, rosemary, cuc,. lemon and strawberry.. just keep filling it up all day -keeps me cool or fruit tea ( only type I drink) or chilled iced coffee.....

HillyN Mon 23-Jul-18 16:46:35

Legs55, I'm a great pear cider fan too; I'd love to know where you get your non-alcoholic version. I also love tonic water with ice and lemon, but cold drinks just leave me wanting more whereas a nice cup of tea seems to quench my thirst completely.

Meriel Mon 23-Jul-18 16:45:29

Pellegrino lemon and mint - yummy!

TerriBull Mon 23-Jul-18 16:40:03

Sparkling water with a slice of lemon or lime. I always smiled at my mother for craving tea when she was parched, not being much of a tea drinker in my younger days, but I see what she means now tea really does do the job in that respect, I only long for it pm though, not in the morning and preferably in a china cup grin

I've just been to our local shop, but no elderflower there.
I'm looking forward to trying it when I can get to the 'big shops'.
