I’ve forgotten what grass looks like

I know the feeling..........it looks as though we are living in a forgotten wasteland!!!

It’s raining in Glasgow? hopefully throughout the day as the forecast predicts.

How strange that so many of us are hoping for rain in the UK. This must be a first! ☔️?

I neglected to cut my lawn before the hot weather truly arrived and it's not looking too bad. Pleased my laziness paid off for once

I think I heard we last had rain end of May and still not a spot here in the sunny east
I love it but the gardens don’t for sure

We’ve been promised rain here in the NE today . Fingers crossed it arrives as the poor lawn is choking for a drink .

I am not longing for rain but I like it as cool as it is now, my ideal temperature are those we have in September

We need rain, the garden is a crisp, and the local Ford is just a trickle. It hasn’t rained for weeks now

Just looked at the BBC forecast for Colchester and there's no significant chance of rain for the next fortnight....that'll be nigh on 2 months!
Weatherman this morning said that you can't compare to 1976 as then we had 15 straight days with temperatures over 30. Temperatures have been yoyoing here....hot today, cooler tomorrow.

I just popped my head out of the door at work and I can smell that smell you get just before the heavens open.

We were surrounded the other day by rainstorms not that far away - but we got an apology for a downpour!

The schools break up this week - and the rain will arrive!

Awful as it sounds I really wish we could have a good downpour to wash the pavements! I've walked into town a few times recently and been appalled at what can only be described as vomit stains on the pavements of our streets - and a lot of them. We have several pubs and wine bars in the town and it looks like people have wandered home worse for wear - quite horrid. A heavy rainstorm might just clean them up a bit (the pavements that is - not the inebriated )

We could stand the inebriated out in the rain too!
Might sober them up.

Well the rain has arrived (I sniffed it out) I was expecting the full monty, but it's nothing too dramatic, so sorry Jalima you will just have to wait your turn. You're so right about the weather changing ready for the schools breaking up .

It usually happens - you plan things thinking it will be lovely and sunny then have to re-think

It poured for over an hour from just after mid-day.

What a lovely showery day! ?️?️. We won't have to water the garden or pots tonight. DH always waters in the evening, for the same reason given by that grumpy gardener.

Should have been going on a nice outing (last chance before schools breakup) to a NT property in the Manchester area
Alas not to be, (emergency visit to MIL).

My mobile is showing rain for that area.

We have cloud and 26° in Mid Norfolk and a very slight breeze has just got up

It's raining!

True to the forecast we had the very light pitter patter of rain overnight,the first in ages............and the area looks the worst for it..........and then with day break we had a mini deluge.......certainly refreshed trees etc, but by lunch time it was all over,back to dry,hot and sunny yet again.
Usually when it starts raining here it forgets to stop!
For once we have been proved wrong!!
