I’m hijacking annep’s Jigsaw thread so thought maybe I ought to start a separate one.

Anybody interested in working out cryptic clues (__exhibiting their vast intellectual superiority__)

From the i in particular.

It could be as good as one of the game threads.

Or at least as interesting as The Archers.....

Paperboy... PAY + PROBE (something which can be 'popped in'....?

Luckygirl Mon 09-Jul-18 11:07:21

But where's the US guy in that?

JoyBloggs Mon 09-Jul-18 11:47:41

I was clutching at straws, Lucky! The Paperboy is a US novel and movie and I thought it was worth a try...

Anyone else finding these harder because they are not in the grid itself?

JoyBloggs Mon 09-Jul-18 13:03:50

Yes, Kitty! At least in the actual grid you often have one or two letters already there to help a bit.

Megram Mon 09-Jul-18 13:49:18

Yes, it's harder without the grid.
