This kind of amused me but at same time I wonder (yet again) what is the point?
I recently agreed to a new gas/electricity plan from SSE, which involved changing a meter. One of the stipulations for the said package was that I had to agree to have a smart meter fitted! OK I thought...no problem.
So my meter was changed but no smart meter. I didn't bother enquiring about it as wasn't that bothered it was them who said I had to have it, but last week I got an email saying they were ready to fit the smart meter and I had to book a convenient date online. I didn't do anything about it at the time, but then got another today asking me to select a date so I logged on, filled in all my details like name, address etc but then was told I needed my gas or electricity account number to complete. After hunting for a bill (very organised) I logged on again and went through the whole procedure again complete with account number and waited.....
Then I got a "Sorry" message "We are unable fit your smart meter at this time but rest assured that you will get one before 2020!!!! What? why send me emails then? Total waste of time then really isn't it?
Anybody else had similar stupid experiences?
