I was persuaded by a very convincing sales assistant, to buy the advanced serum, new wrinkle corrector, day and night cream etc. I have never spent so much on face creams, it was two hundred pounds before I had finished, I can honestly say after, 6 months if faithful use it has not made one iota of difference to my skin, I am going back to Oil of Olay, people have always commented on my good skin, mainly down to genes and moisturising morning and evening, but lines are beginning to appear. Have you seen the untouched photo on a certain magazine of an untouched up Helen Mirren, the face of L'oreal, which says it all. I am not going to stop the lines coming whatever I use, so I have got to love this face as its changing.

It's not about how much you pay. It's how often you use it, and also of course genes, diet and sun exposure.

My old GP was a dermatology specialist, and always told me that all skin required was moisture, as skin was designed to keep stuff out, so it was a waste of money buying expensive products.

I think the sun exposure is one of the worst for our skin - the creams with UV protection are probably the best to use in summer if you're outdoors a lot. £200 is a huge amount to spend Luckylegs9 - the sales assistant must have been very persuasive
