Corner have you finished with the lamb? DH burnt the curry and I fetched something out of the cupboard only to get an open packet of his wheat grass all over me!
My kitchen is finished! Holiday next week then it’s the dining room!

Sad news from Home, Sam’s eyes have gotten worse again . I hate it when something like that happens when you’re several thousand miles away although he’s in my daughters capable hands !

He’s not doing too badly as the photo shows of him sleeping on Coopers bed! Coop had a scary nightmare yesterday and now will only go to bed if Sam is there to keep the monsters away! Ah...the love of a boy for his borrowed dog ( Nibbles Sonic the bunny just won’t cut it !)

I have no access to lamb Corner , but they have some hefty steaks here if that will do !

I hope you won’t think me insensitive if I just say to n&g steak will do . Sorry Sam’s eyes aren’t responding well, sounds as if he is a first class nightmare-scarer though. I’m wondering what will happen to Cooper’s dreams when Sam returns home.

I should be asleep. Long day tomorrow, off to visit poorly friend and do what needs doing. Interesting how I find sleep always seems elusive when it’s busy the next day. I’ll ponder that, it will be sure to bore me to sleep.

I am in love!
Just back from looking after littlest fella for 2 days (plus a night!) and it has been lovely. He is back to his perky little self today and (bless him) slept for 11 hours last night - not even waking when Basil the dog decided to have a bark at some anonymous cat four streets away.
How good is that?

Here he is enjoying “teatime”with a birthday present teaset (at 7 o clock this morning ?) or do I mean “groan”?

I have just caught up with all the photos, injuries, decorating, holidays, poorly eyes, battered arms, painful knees, alcohol and food but one thing bothers me - where is baggs?

I wondered that too Kitty. Hope she hasn't fallen into the loch.

Greetings from the Welsh coast........ which is like the ever expanding waistline come the Whitsun Bank holiday!!!

We need to hold on firmly to our home and chattels or we shall find squatters taking residence..... as the Hotels,B & B`s Guest Houses and the like add their “Full” signs.

Even the caravan and camp sites are bulging!

It really denotes the start of the summer and everywhere you go you are surrounded by brown bodies wearing as little as possible!!!

However I have had a rotten sleepless night,and this day looks little better,so apologies for some what “Raining on your parade”.

I have enjoyed reading, and even with yet more new faces to try to picture, I am slowly getting there, whilst thoroughly enjoying your pictures.

My long awaited much dreaded operation is due this Tuesday 29th with travelling up to this distant Hospital late on Whit Monday amidst the holiday traffic.

My nerves have now firmly kicked into place and I am something of a jellyfish inside,especially having been read the dire warnings that goes alongside this dire `op involving the pancreas/gall bladder/ducts and liver.
It is not an easy job by all accounts.

So please forgive me for being unduly morose and with rather less to say.

All this food talk just does not go down too well with my delicate insides today.............so kitchen people all,wishing you a great day,special thoughts and hugs for those going through their own problems.............and a big thank you to others for giving us things to smile about.

Good luck next week Panache. That sounds like a Whipple? My brother had it done last year, and while it is a big op, he recovered well, if that helps.

Good morning the kitchen from a dreary, wet South Yorkshire. But the sun is shining for us because GS is back from his school trip and, though a week is not a long time, we have missed him. We had a chat on the phone last night. “What did you like most about Paris”, I asked him. “It was so clean”, he replied! Not quite what I had expected but gratifying that these things are important to him!
aggie May I add my condolences. I am so sorry for your loss. I had a difficult conversation with one of DH’s nieces last night who has just lost her mother, and frankly I didn’t know what to say to console her. She is devastated.
Maw I wish I had Flynn to serve me tea with a smile like that in the mornings. What a start to the day that would be!
Panache we lived in Manorbier for a couple of years when DH was in the Army and I remember Tenby and Pembroke being thronged with summer visitors, making weekly shopping a bit trying at times, but without them the local economy would be on its knees as in any holiday venue. We have switched sides now and are frequent visitors there ourselves, as I’m sure I have mentioned. Grin and bear us! I hope your op goes well; not surprised you are nervous - I would be, but I’m sure you will be in good hands.
N&G Sam looks very comfortable there on Coop’s bed. He’s a very sleek looking fellow too! I hope his eyes don’t get any worse - it must be a worry for you at the moment.
We have a mysterious leak on the radiator in our bathroom. We can’t make out where it is coming from and neither can the plumber, who looked at it yesterday when he came to talk to us about refurbishing the downstairs cloakroom. He tightened everything up and it seemed to stop, but this morning it is leaking again. I said yesterday that I thought something was leaking just below floor level; the men looked at me with that “what do women know about these things” and continued to discuss the possibilities without me, so when it starts coming through the ceiling into the hallway, I will make DH stand underneath it as a penance!
We are going for a swim this morning - could have done with it yesterday when it was hot, but we both need the exercise.

It's exceedingly warm in bonnie Kintyre. Barely a cloud in the sky. Care home visit was not too troublesome today. Those residents we talked with, were greatly cheered by the sunshine streaming through the open French windows.

Yet more lovely photos. Flynn is adorable. Cooper and Sam share a special bond. I'm sorry to hear that Sam's eye is still a cause for concern. We know how hard it is to treat an animal with a poorly eye. Rory was adamant that his cooperation was uncalled for.

Dear Panache You will be in our thoughts as you make your way to the hospital for surgery. I know first hand how it feels to walk through the doors of a hospital prior to an operation. I've had my gall bladder removed (along with other bits and bobs). Will you be having something similar? If so, you will be pleased with the end result and us lot will be here to keep an eye on you as you recouperate.

Aggie so so sorry for your loss.

corner I would die for some of the meals that you have had-whether I could actually eat the food is another thing because all I have had to eat this week is toast and marmalade for breakfast and once I had smoked salmon trimmings with Ryvita. I am aware that will not get me on my feet anytime soon.

Tara is home and has forgiven me. She is out exploring in case anything has moved- I doubt it.

My friend who picked her up offered cash to pay the cattery bill but the fellow screamed he only accepted cheques- weird. Anyway one is winging its way to him. She will not be returning there again. I gave enough food for as month- she has been there 2 weeks and they must have fed other cats because my container is almost empty.

Are you getting the cold shoulder treatment Charley? We always did when our cat had been to the battery.

It has rained here today ( thank you rain god) so I will have an evening off from watering my lots of pots.
My H is slowly calming down after the stroke, his dementia is 100 times worse than before though.
It is hard to get him to understand anything I say and he can be hard to understand, we had a visit from a Speech and Language therapist on Tuesday who said he would not benefit from therapy because of the aphasia, he would not understand.
He is getting by with very little sleep, which means in turn I am getting very little, any respite seems difficult due to lack of facilities close to hand and that he will accept.
We have now visited 2 day centres which he did not like or even understand what they were, the 2nd yesterday made it clear that he would not be accepted if he didn't want to be there!!
I have accepted we may take some time to reach a solution.
He doesn't like anyone else in the house and tells them to leave which makes a sitter difficult.
Something will happen sometime I expect.
I live in hope.

What is the battery I wonder, not surprising that she didn't want to go if she got battered every time.?
