There's no getting away from it - they've just been banging on about it on Classic FM, which I'm listening to in the dining room - just went into kitchen for another coffee - Dh in there listening to Radio 4 - and they were on about it, too.

I do wish them happy and I hope the sun shines for them on Saturday, but....
Oh, and tins of Royal Wedding biscuits in M&S!!

Aw no smile from Victoria ? And I missed George Clooney, be glad when the Windsors arrive bringing dignity to the circus . My younger daughter wasn’t going to watch, when she heard there were ten little attendants ,one being Charlotte, she decided to watch hoping charlotte will wave as she walks down the aisle ?

I love the orange dress and black hat that the actress from Suits is wearing.

Who ARE these people? grin

Besstwishes Sat 19-May-18 11:15:08

Ooh the car is at Cliveden!

merlotgran Sat 19-May-18 11:24:33

Ha Ha! No dodgy hats from Beatrice and Eugenie this year.

Shame.

merlotgran Sat 19-May-18 11:25:30

Princess Anne is wearing a dressing gown. grin

paddyann Sat 19-May-18 11:35:30

I'm NOT watching but I have had an e-mail from a friend telling me Harry has been made Earl of Dumbarton...I hope its a windup..but if its not I can tell you someone doesn't like him or hasn't done their homework.Dumbarton is one of the most deprived areas in the west of Scotland ,think massive drug and unemployment figures, large numbers of single parents ,more council tax arrears than Glasgow ...see what I mea..just what we need ..an EARL !!

The bride in virginal white plus veil ! Wonder if she is wearing the Spencer tiara

Anniebach Sat 19-May-18 11:38:23

paddyann, at least you haven’t got the prince of Scotland

paddyann Sat 19-May-18 11:41:40

WELL "Annie" she is a woman who obviously likes to bend the rules to suit herself.....the changing of her religion to marry him really peed me off...she could have kept the one she had and made the RF more inclusive that way..but no every royal must tread the same path and alienate all other religious views in the UK .Its very old fashioned for a bride to take her grooms religion, hardly a modern woman as she's claiming to be

Anniebach Sat 19-May-18 11:43:40

What was her religion ?

BlueBelle Sat 19-May-18 11:49:26

Catholic
I m a complete hypocrite after saying I wasn’t interested I ve got hooked and am enjoying watching them all
Good luck to them both

Grandma70s Sat 19-May-18 12:10:12

She isn’t a Catholic. She just went to a Catholic school.

merlotgran Sat 19-May-18 12:12:02

What an amazing and beautiful entrance.

mostlyharmless Sat 19-May-18 12:15:50

I wasn’t going to watch, but, stunning dress, dreamy train. And tears from Harry. Beautiful. Hope they are very happy.

Anniebach Sat 19-May-18 12:16:43

She has Godchildren so must have a religion surely

Katek Sat 19-May-18 12:18:02

Very dramatic entrance - couldn’t have got the lighting better if it had been organised! (Don’t think even RF have hotline to the Almighty!) She looked almost ethereal and female soloist added to the effect.

Marriage service is certaintly different

Devorgilla Sat 19-May-18 12:26:23

Her mother is a Protestant and her father an Anglican so both Christian. No need to change her religion which she didn't. The word 'catholic' means all embracing so everyone who is Christian belongs to the universal, all embracing Christian Church, no matter the denomination. She chose to be baptised into the Anglican Church as she had not been baptised as a baby.

harrigran Sat 19-May-18 12:29:53

Beautiful and understated wedding dress and mother of the bride looks amazing.
Tasteful, even DH has commented on how nice it is.

Anniebach Sat 19-May-18 12:33:19

Sorry but this marriage service is awful

merlotgran Sat 19-May-18 12:38:44

It's OK now the preacher has finally shut up. Prince Phillip's face was a picture.

Anniebach Sat 19-May-18 12:38:51

Please no kiss at the alter

rafichagran Sat 19-May-18 12:54:42

Lovely wedding. Understated dress. Meghan looked beautiful. All the choirs were lovely. I loved Bishop Michaels sermon.

BlueBelle Sat 19-May-18 12:55:23

Well from a non royalist I think it’s lovely and they all look beautiful
Her dress is beautiful very classic simple lines looks gorgeous
Prince Charles seemed very kindly having a little word with her as they walked down the aisle
I think Prince Philip doesn’t look too well
Why shouldn’t they have a kiss Anniebach you sound determined to dislike it all,

muffinthemoo Sat 19-May-18 12:55:36

The dress is a bit nothingy. Looks a bit high street for a Givenchy. The veil was a bad call.

Kate looks beautiful and William looks very well.

More navy amongst the guests than I might expect for an early summer wedding?

I am not Anglican but Catholic but am a veteran wedding-goer in all denominations; I don’t think much of this service in terms of choices of readings, music etc.

The Duke of Edinburgh looks in good spirits!
