There's no getting away from it - they've just been banging on about it on Classic FM, which I'm listening to in the dining room - just went into kitchen for another coffee - Dh in there listening to Radio 4 - and they were on about it, too.

I do wish them happy and I hope the sun shines for them on Saturday, but....
Oh, and tins of Royal Wedding biscuits in M&S!!

I have better things to do tomorrow morning but wouldn't waste a sunny morning watching that wedding. We're sure to get it ad nauseam on the news broadcasts anyway. I am wondering what the government will come out with on "a good day to break bad news"....!

I am going to be very busy all weekend doing stuff unrelated to royalty or weddings, so it is probably just as well that my invitation seems to have got lost in the post as I would have had to decline, which might have upset the happy couple.

No doubt I will eventually be able to catch some edited highlights on tv.

My neighbour Darren asked 'When is it?'.....

I am painting a cupboard.

Re my previous post: The original quote was 'A good day to bury bad news.'

It's here at last...
I have polished up my tiara.
Got my gown nicely freshened up.
Bubbly is chilling in the fridge.
Flowers from the garden I am yet to cut. Keep them fresh as possible.
Can't wait .!
Just got to go to an afternoon tea party for niece and then I can enjoy the wedding of the year!
Have a good day everyone no matter what you are doing .

Television is ON. The programme is coming from Windsor and I am loving it already............!
To everyone who is going to watch and enjoy the Royal Wedding, have a great day.
To everyone who is avoiding the wedding I hope you are successful.

DanniRae Sat 19-May-18 07:41:39

Er "Gransnet friends" - I hope there is more than one of you?

merlotgran Sat 19-May-18 08:13:49

I have the telly on as well, DanniRae. Have had a very anxious two weeks with a poorly DH who is now home from hospital, the sun is shining, I'm on my second mug of tea and he has promised not to do the moany man thing about the RW grin

The only downer is we're an alcohol free house at the moment because he's on IV antibiotics so I will have to toast the bride and groom with orange juice and SL tonic and pretend it's Buck's Fizz.

Bring it on! grin

Somehow this is all passing me by as I won’t be in to watch it anyway. DGSs will be IFlying (indoor skydiving) at Milton Keynes instead, a Christmas present from us.
However, I had guessed Sussex as the title the Queen was going to give them!

Grandma70s Sat 19-May-18 08:57:11

I’m quite enjoying watching all the crazy people in Windsor.

Is she the most unlikely Duchess ever?

Maggiemaybe Sat 19-May-18 09:04:10

Well I've cooled the prosecco, prepped the sandwiches (cucumber, smoked salmon and all), iced the elderflower and lemon cake, got out the china and embroidered tablecloth. The roses and stocks bouquet smells gorgeous, lilac to come in at the last minute for the table decoration. DBF arriving at 10 and we're looking forward to a lovely morning. Cheers to all who are watching one or all of the main events. And also of course to those of you busy elsewhere or ostentatiously avoiding the wedding - enjoy your day! wine

silverdarlings Sat 19-May-18 09:04:45

I'm watching too some happiness in this angry-angry wold++

silverdarlings Sat 19-May-18 09:06:17

oops=world ha ha ++

Oldwoman70 Sat 19-May-18 09:14:52

I won't be watching but I wish them well and hope all GNs settling down with the bubbly on ice enjoy it

Anniebach Sat 19-May-18 09:15:27

I like watching weddings, think I will watch with the sound off until the marriage service. I have no wish to hear one more in the crowd say ‘I love Harry’. ‘I am here because I loved Diana’ .

annodomini Sat 19-May-18 09:40:31

I'm hoping that the shops will be quiet this morning...

DanniRae Sat 19-May-18 09:54:01

Did any of you Royal Wedding watchers (RWW) see that purple hat that Earl Spencer's wife was wearing? I think she looked amazing!

Anniebach Sat 19-May-18 10:04:12

His two ex girl friends arrived together ?. Big question is -will Victoria Beckham smile

merlotgran Sat 19-May-18 10:41:05

Nope, Annie. Not even a crack. hmm

merlotgran Sat 19-May-18 10:42:19

Mind you, I was too busy looking at George Clooney to care. grin

Grandma70s Sat 19-May-18 10:46:21

I’m hopeless with celebrities. If that was George Clooney I wasn’t impressed. At least I’ve heard of him.

DanniRae Sat 19-May-18 10:47:34

My daughter just text me - she's watching at work - to say isn't Victoria Beckham a miserable c*w!
