I'll start off with:

*He arrives home with red roses and they are for his mother
*You wear the perfume he admired on his friend's wife and he asks if the drains are blocked again
*His idea of a romantic day together is a trip to the fishing tackle shop

He gives you a tin opener for your birthday.

He says he’ll take you out for lunch and you end up in a lay-by at a Burger van.

I’ve had the tin opener - but it was an electric one! He has not made the same mistake again!!

Shortly after we were married, he turned to me in bed and said, 'I love this time of day....I think of all the gas and electricity we're saving' shock

My husband bought me an iron - an expensive, posh iron - but an iron never the less. He didn't repeat that mistake either!

This truly happened to a sister of a friend of mine
The romance had died when he asked her to put ointment on his "piles".

When he gazes at you across the table in a romantic Parisian restaurant and tells you that your spots really stand out in the candlelight. And we're still together!

My (now ex) bought me "Mrs Beeton's Book of Home Management" for our 10th anniversary. .... and I had the tin-opener the following birthday.

When you playfully take a spoonful of his dessert and he prongs your hand with his fork.Accidentally ( he says.)

When you return home and he says enthusiastically ‘I’m glad you’re back!’ Then follows it with ‘what’s for dinner?’

DH bought me a deep fat fryer one Christmas - NEVER AGAIN. I tell you it wasn’t the chips which were nearly boiled. ?

When he brings home flowers and says, "Well I was getting some for my mum and they were so cheap I thought I might as well get some for you too." And that, believe it or not, was just a few months after we married grin

When he`s out for the day with his mates, rings up to say he`s bringing a present back...............and turns up with a new shopping bag.

lemongrove Sat 05-May-18 22:44:40

Bath ? and call........you can laugh about it now ( but not then.)

Humbertbear Sun 06-May-18 08:24:58

When you get home from work and he says ‘we have to move so I think we should get married’. ( and we did)

Come on girls, You know the romance has gone when you think about...
1... what life for you would be like after divorce
2...ways to commit suicide
3...ways to kill him and not get found out
