A Butterfly ,not sure quite where, but somewhere I could see it, so not on my back as there would be no point .

Loathe them! Both DD1 and DGD1 have them.

You're very brave to mention the 'T' word on here Megram, it brings out the venom in a lot of members.

I believe a tattoo should be personal to the wearer and all tattooists (who are artists in their own right) can follow a design provided for them.

Look out for a picture that means something to you in your life and take that with you - otherwise there's books with hundreds of ideas. Of course the size and design is your choice and most people opt for small discreet works, I have four that most people don't know about as they can't see them. What the eye can't see can't mortally offend them.

I'm not fond of them , but to each their own. My son is smothered in them and they all mean something to him, which I fully respect. One of them is "MUM" so that is close enough for me !

I have the Om symbol on my inside wrist. I did it for me, to remind me of my spirituality. I care not what anyone else thinks!!

Ive always disliked them.But now changed my mind and have had a simple outline of a cat on the inside of my wrist, It’s simple, I love cats.Im 71! I won’t be having anymore.

I would have been against tattoos until my son in law got one. He and my daughter suffered 5 miscarriages and he got 5 little birds on his back to remember them. I realise now that tattoos can mean something personal, and it's not for anyone else to judge.

Hate them! My youngest son got one a sleeve? I could of cried!! Felt he'd mutilated his body. He lived it so kept quiet ? He keeps it covered most of the time so I don't see it. His choice his life but I can't stand them!!!

No they are not for me. 1: if I have managed to go 62 years without one I can’t see the point of one now and 2: I don’t like pain if I can avoid it.
I have one DD who has a couple and one DD without any.
Even though I would prefer she hadn’t done it, my one DD has a really unusual one that I quite like. It is a one off that was done in Australia and the artist is very talented and expensive. She had to wait to get an appointment with him as he is very sort after.

Everyone is entitled to do what they like but it can give a misleading message. I don't like seeing nurses with them and I'm sure that very visible tattoos must limit jobs. If I went to a very expensive hotel and the receptionist was covered in tattoos I would be surprised to say the least. Luckily my son has a terrible phobia about needles !

Personally, no. It’s a personal choice, of course, and I suppose some can look quite tasteful, but I think lots of tattoos all over the body look awful, and whether rightly or wrongly, can give the wrong impression. I’m going to duck down in a corner now! ?

Not for me! (In the gym changing rooms I've seen older women, who's tattoos simply focus attention to their sagging areas....their tattoos sag as well...)

For my 70th birthday I treated myself to a tiny jenny wren on the inside of my left wrist. My husband hates it but I felt I was old enough to be a bit naff if I felt like it - and I did! I also bought a personalised number plate!

I’ve always loathed tattoos, but now my daughters and friends have them, I’m changing my mind. I’d like a discreet one for my 70th next year, but my husband is having a fit! I’m interested in what other GNs like.

A botanical type design in honour of my 3 sons and also my favourite flower.
Mixed responses; mostly pursed lips and shaking of heads from my contemporaries, but positive from the generation following!
My sons? Ranging from; WTF? When is the full back piece being done? and I am honoured Ma! Now 72, and still love it

I loathe tatts...and piercings (other than 1 in each ear)
