Where are your family living?

I noticed on the driving thread that many of us drive long distances to visit family and it got me wondering what sort of 'spread' our families have. I have children in Devon, Dorset, Cheshire and New Zealand. My close family live in Devon, Warwickshire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, America and Australia.

My daughter lives a 15-minute drive away, but we had to travel halfway round the world to where we live now.

My daughter and granddaughter live three miles away (practically next door to my office), my oldest son lives with us (don't think we'll EVER get him fledged from the nest!) and my youngest son lives 25 miles away in London.

I have paternal cousins in Norfolk and Edinburgh (no contact with them) and maternal cousins in London (only in sporadic contact with one of them)

We are in SW London, both dds in Oxford/Oxfordshire. An easy enough drive for there and back in a day, though we do often stay over.
No parents still living, they all lived 1-2 hours' drive away.

My parents never had any family around the corner, either. It was always a fair drive or (before they had a car) train journey to see any of them.

For some 13 years Dh and I lived an 8 hour flight from any of our UK families, though I would come back with dds for 2 months every summer to escape the worst of the heat, and both our sets of parents came to visit more than once in December, when the weather was lovely.

DD nearby (about 20 miles or 30 minute drive), DS1 still at home (!) and DS2 in Cork!

We live in the E. Midlands; daughter in south Essex as are OH's two surviving cousins. I have a cousin in Australia but no other relations.
