What's your vice?

Was talking to DH earlier about vices - that one thing we really know we shouldn't do/eat/drink but still do anyway - and it got me thinking about what mine is.

I eat healthy, have never smoked, try to have gentle daily exercise but I can't resist diet coke. I must drink about two cans a day! Oh, and a nice glass of chilled white wine at the weekends.

What are your vices?

This is my first time starting a discussion so I do hope I've posted this in the right place! smile

Toffees, books and Lucozade. Toffees are the worst - can’t resist them.

Only other vice is drooling during anything starring Benedict Cumberbatch - can’t resist him either. Yummy!

Condensed milk and white chocolate I think you must be my twin anniesgrannie. Every time a recipe calls for a tin of condensed milk, I end up buying at least three - the first two just get eaten and finally I force myself to use the last one for the recipe well, about 75% of it that is blush
And white chocolate! [moan emoticon]

Pingles!!! ..... and once I start I have to finish the box/tube/carton.... but I walk five miles a day so I reckon I'm allowed. Keep your ice-cream and chocolate...Pringles all day long!

Ice-cream and chocolate or both of them together! They are terribly bad for my but I just love them so I have to make sure I avoid them as much as possible. Trouble is, they are a bit like an addiction. If I avoid them, I eventually feel deprived and have some which then triggers me to keep eating them. It is then quite a problem to stop eating them again and get things under control.

Champagne. We don't go out much and do not drink in the week. On Friday we share a bottle of cava.

On Saturday, however, we open a bottle of (cheap) Champagne, say 'woohoo!' when the cork pops out, clink glasses and say, 'Happy Saturday.'

And it is.

For me cheese is my downfall. Favourites are English Stilton and French Epoisses. And far too much wine. Don’t really have a sweet tooth though.

@nanak54 I think flapjacks and cheese would go very well together.

As a northerner, my mum used to serve homemade plum loaf with cheese. On the first MIL visit to meet my parents, my mother served this - my MIL was scathing; saying they never had this in Scotland!
On our next visit north, MIL served a buffet to the whole family and guess what was on the middle of the table? Yes - her homemade fruitloaf served with cheese!

I blow hot and cold and can indulge and indulge on the flavour of the moment until I never ever want to taste it again and find something new .The process then starts all over again.

Hmmm, difficult as I don’t have any vices ?
I do, though, have things that I like ( a lot!)
Maltesers
Gin and tonic
Cheese
Thorntons toffee
Apple crumble
Trifle
Hard to just have a tiny amount if any of these things.

I have many: most types of cheese, MeCoy's cheese and onion, chocolate, glasses of prosecco or champagne. I am trying hard to resist as on diet.

I cannot stop buying wool and knitting patterns.I have a new granddaughter who is 3 weeks old and so I am blaming her.
I can’t blame her for my addiction to houmous though, and cheese and onion crisps.

Kupari45 Fri 20-Apr-18 17:46:00

Condensed milk generously spread on soft new bread.

Grandmama Fri 20-Apr-18 18:06:14

I've always had a bit of a problem with chocolate but a week or so ago I found some jelly babies and fruit pastilles in the pantry and inexplicably I've got hooked on them. I've never been a sweet-eater.

grannybuy Fri 20-Apr-18 18:10:44
