Never ask a lady how old she is.
Can I ask the gransnetters

Very light heartedly

Well, I don't mind owning up.

I'm 66

aggie Fri 06-Apr-18 15:34:29

I'm eighty , my mum never hid her age . She had over heard her parents discuss their ages and was horrified to hear that they were in their forties and not twenty one ! She spent a week expecting them to fall off the perch. She decided never to tell a white lie when she grew up and passed the story on to us lol

Never tell my age as the look on peoples faces is disbelief.
They think I am older shock
(I am the sum of the first 7 prime numbers)

mcem Fri 06-Apr-18 15:49:36

Just turned 70. No big deal!

NanKate Fri 06-Apr-18 15:55:59

Moocow Fri 06-Apr-18 15:59:33

Not telling! For years I thought 3 of my friends were a few years older than me, turned out they were all at least four years younger ! Made me feel even older so now I want to add a few years to my real age so might people think I look good for my age grin

HAZBEEN Fri 06-Apr-18 16:00:31

Will be 62 later this month.

HAZBEEN Fri 06-Apr-18 16:01:19

By the way how old are you gmelon

Moocow Fri 06-Apr-18 16:01:20

gmelon how old are you?

ninathenana Fri 06-Apr-18 16:03:04

I haven't reached my second childhood yet. grin
When we're little we are proud to say "I'm 6 3/4" or whatever. Then we stop telling until we get old enough to start boasting "I'm 94, dear. I bet you didn't think I was that old, did you ?"
(Sorry if you are 94, just an example)
I'm 64 by the way.

gmelon Fri 06-Apr-18 16:04:47

Ages between fifties to eighties from I've seen mentioned in other threads. The gap is generally that between parents and their children.

Does it sound daft that I'm wondering who is the oldest gransnetter?

shysal Fri 06-Apr-18 16:05:13

I will be 72 in June. I don't care who knows and am not ashamed to look my age.

gmelon Fri 06-Apr-18 16:09:00

I'm 52.
Some of us definitely dont have the same view as our parents and our children.
Yet on gransnet age isn't obvious and everyone gets on pretty well.

annodomini Fri 06-Apr-18 16:20:10

I'm quite proud of being 77 and still alive. grin

Nanawind Fri 06-Apr-18 16:24:55

I'll be 58 in may.

Moocow Fri 06-Apr-18 16:25:40

Gmelon you are young! Wonder who might be the youngest and the oldest now. I'm middling.

Annodomini I always think that now!

TwiceAsNice Fri 06-Apr-18 16:27:02

65 in July

Charleygirl Fri 06-Apr-18 16:27:18

MawBroon Fri 06-Apr-18 16:27:37

Also just turned 70 and still waiting to feel “grown up” smile

kittylester Fri 06-Apr-18 16:28:54

Lindylou51 Fri 06-Apr-18 16:38:12

grannyqueenie Fri 06-Apr-18 16:44:14

I’ll be 68 this autumn, I’ve never seen the point of being coy about it - it won’t change anything!

nanaK54 Fri 06-Apr-18 16:45:49

103.......no not really, I am 63
