What irritates you about other Gransnetters?

I don't like it when people, whose posts I enjoy, suddenly disappear.
Are they ill? In hospital? Fed up with GN? Changed names?
Wish they could let us know if possible (stop me worrying!)

Thinking in particular of Imperfect who was an avid contributor.

Person who replied in a rude dismissive way....this happened to me on my first post and made a painful situation worse. Won’t be asking for advice again in a hurry.

I don't know who has offended you Maw hope it wasn't me. When I started this thread I intended it to be lighthearted. I'm quite upset than anyone should have said or done anything on it to make someone upset.

I realise that, but can’t see why I have come in for so much opprobrium , and yes, I’ll name names if necessary so why you took it as implied criticism or an insult Greenfinch is still a mystery to me.
Subsequent oblique comments about being jumped on or not apologising struck me as too close to home when I had assumed the emoji made my intention clear enough.
Perhaps it’s the timing, perhaps I am feeling sensitive, but this bread has turned nasty (for me)
I should have steered well clear bu who would have guessed GN could be such a mine field.

Discussing TV programmes in a light hearted way is one of the threads I am likely to join in with so just because I think the plot is full of holes, the child character is a brat and the leading man a wimp does NOT mean I have to switch off.

Criticising television characters/actors/locations does nobody any harm whatsoever.

The fact that no matter what I seem to post, no one responds and it closes the thread.

I was just trying to explain about names that we don't recognise from threads being the ones who often seem to win the competitions.

If they never post, how do you know they joined?

In my defence, as I never enter competitions I never read who has won anything, so that I why I was unaware of non- posting members. Seemed a not unreasonable question at the time.
I have already apologised for attributing the comment to lemon grove -surely adequately?

Those who think there is too much nastiness might like to know that I think it was worse when I first joined! I remember, when I hadn't been on her very long, I said something about people bullying and got a whole load of things like 'if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen'. It felt quite clique then and doesn't now. There seemed to be a group who had been on since the year dot and felt their opinions were more valid than others. Or maybe I have just got used to it all?

Oh dear,I wasn't pointing the finger at anyone in particular when I said some were in a timewarp .I'm very sorry you thought it was you Jane10 that certainly wasn't my intention.I meant timewarp with regards to attitudes mainly,and I have to say I haven't found you victorian at all .As to the poster who thinks people who are with /obsessed with GC or family I hold my hands up to that.I grew up in a very close family ,I saw my Aunts every day until I started school and we saw them at least a couple of times every week after that .Its "normal" to me to see my children and GC all the time ..its who we are .I'd much rather spend time with them than with most other folk I know .Luckily both AC feel the same and can often pop in when passing or call to say their in the pub and would we like to join them.Thats family life as I know it .I can imagine not seeing them all week or for weeks on end .I wont feel bad about it....I love how my life is .

Not exactly irritated by anyone, but I’m also not a fan of the sniping, patronising, or unkind comments. It is reminiscent of the school playground and rather sad that some folk still feel the need for it, despite having reached a ‘certain age’.

Having said that, most gransnetters that I’ve had dealings with have been lovely. ?

What really annoys me is when I post something, deliberately non-specific and someone decides they know my opinion.
Also, when someone misreads my post and accuses me of saying something I didn't and then doesn't apologise.

Just to counterbalance the general tenor of the thread, I enjoy reading all the threads on Gransnet and think that most contributors are great fun.

If someone starts getting catty, I just stop reading that thread.

The only thing that annoys me is that in Pedants' Corner, the same old things have started cropping up by the end of the first page; all those threads are identical.
