Women in the gents!

We were at Alder Hey Children's Hospital last year with our daughter and our granddaughter and the toilets were unisex. No problem with that, except that people tended to pull the door to when they left and you couldn't tell whether they were vacant without a gentle push. One of my pet hates, it happens in lots of places.

I’ve gone into gents when queue for ladies- usually when there are just single toilets one for men and one for women. They are usually identical inside.

I wouldn’t object to men in women’s toilets as we’re all in cubicles anyway, when we’re “doing our business”. In general I think unisex ones are the way to go.

Well a lot of you are not as easily embarrassed as me. I don't think I could cope with seeing a lot of men's bits at the urinals on my way to a cubicle!

I suppose we're lucky in western countries, having mostly hygienic toilets.
When I was staying in India I went to one at a restaurant - just one for everyone.
It was rather low down and there were lots of mossies flying around trying to bite you. I got out of there as quick as possible.

I still have flashbacks to the loo in a non tourist area of Turkey. a hole in the floor with a couple of flat stones to plant your feet on and a tin bucket at the side to put your "waste". It was grim.
