Reading another thread about things you have said in error reminded me of something that happened on the day of my mother’s funeral 4 years ago.
Everyone, including Mum (in her casket obviously) were at the crem. Except me, Dad and my 3 sisters who were waiting for the limousine to take us there from Dad’s house to the crem. The driver was running late and my sister called the company to find out what was going on. They said they’d find out and ring us back.
15 minutes later and getting more stressed the phone went.
One of my sisters announced ‘that’ll be Mum wondering where the bloody hell we are’ me and other sisters collapsed with laughter though don’t think Dad quite got it.
What are your stories of using humour to lighten an otherwise stressful situation?
