We are halfway through half term and I am missing our regular fun on the price of school uniform/ugg boots and onesies.
Hope nobody’s Nan is poorly?
Mind you, Birmingham don’t have their half term until next week ......

Half term next week in Warrington so I get to see my lovely GS (the next Ed Sheeran) at the weekend- now what shall I feed him?

mcem Thu 15-Feb-18 09:36:39

Half-term here is not a full week. Mine are off today, Friday, Monday. Adjacent LEA ( sister's DGCs) Friday, Monday, Tuesday.
In each case 1 day is inset and 2 are holidays so teachers have only 2 days.

Half term this week, both GC needed new shoes but I doubt they were allowed Uggs. Famous name shoe company with a bill that makes your eyes water.

Maw are you being Birminghamist?grin Looks like it is not out of step with everywhere else. Ours is next week too.

Ugh to Ugg boots, imo they are on a par with those horrid plastic sandal things which I can't remember the name of.

I think your dream may have come true Maw.

I need to start thinking of the Summer hollidays and my DGC they all need jelly shoes and there are 10 of them aged between 3 and 12, do you think that £15 would cuvver it?
They also need shorts and tees, can anyone rekkomend cheep places to buy?

grin
Should someone explain to posters not clued in as to what's going on?

Pittcity Thu 15-Feb-18 17:32:37

I can't explain it Jane10
It's a bit like "Mornington Crescent"!!

pensionpat Thu 15-Feb-18 17:45:19

Jane. There is a pattern of spoof threads at school holiday time. It is quite amusing.

NotTooOld Thu 15-Feb-18 17:55:37

Jane, I was wondering too!

nanaK54 Thu 15-Feb-18 17:56:17

Hmmm think we should be careful what we wish for grin I have had my first ever 'this post has been deleted' on another thread - oh well, sure i will live grin grin

Squiffy Thu 15-Feb-18 17:59:01

nanaK54 Thu 15-Feb-18 18:00:56

SueDonim Thu 15-Feb-18 19:10:42

I'm wondering about my grandson's boyfriend going on holiday with him. grin

MawBroon Thu 15-Feb-18 19:24:52

Ah yes

Jalima1108 Thu 15-Feb-18 19:31:24

harrigran I think I mentioned on another thread grin that Uggs are bad for growing feet.

Jelly shoes are grate, lemon, are they part of school uniform? What colour for school?

Jalima1108 Thu 15-Feb-18 19:34:15

"Mornington Crescent"!!

I thought Mornington Crescent was very posh and very double-barrelled eg Alexander Mccall-Smith? Or am I wrong (AGAIN)

NanaK54 and Squiffy whatever have you been up to? shock

Squiffy Thu 15-Feb-18 19:39:45

That would be telling Jalima!

Chewbacca Thu 15-Feb-18 19:42:10

Lemon you'll be pleased to know that you can get 25 pairs of jelly shoes, all in neon colours, from ShoeBargainsRUs.com. They also have plimsols. T shirts are best saved for best, I find because they keep losing them at school. I paint my grandchildren's chests and back in school uniform colours. It saves on ironing too.
