Anniebach Who announced it to the press? I haven't heard that. It was probably discreet rather than secret. Our press isn't known for it's subtlety when it comes to language.

Surely it is those people who were visited to have their wishes respected.

You can settle for what ever you wish, if you choose to believe all those newspapers received the story on the same day by coincidence then your choice. If others believe it was KP PR machine at work their choice.

As she is followed everywhere she goes and is photographed at every opportunity I don't think it would have been necessary for anyone to announce her visit. As Bridgeit asked has there been any criticism from the people she visited?

Posters seem to forget that this is a woman who didn't come from a privileged background, who worked to make her own money, who has campaigned for charities before she met Harry. I would wager that there are no posters who have actually met her yet feel they can make sneering remarks about her. Let's give the poor girl a chance.

But does it even matter,? I mean this seriously no matter what we Old biddies think,if the people of Grenfel are ok with it that’s a good thing isn’t it . ? If any wants to criticise the Royal family & wishes that we were a Republican Country ,why not just say so, instead of backbiting about a visit that had good intentions

Jaycee , I have not critcised her, I have said I wish she would tie her hair back, the Windsors are not sacred for everyone and not the devil incarnate for everyone. I am not a slavish royalist and not a republican, I would rather we had the Windsors to a president . All the discussions on GN regarding the costs of the Windsors my one complaint has always been the cost of security for so many homes. What they wear I like or dislike , this is perfectly normal , I have one sister who has only wore black clothes for years, no other colour, I dislike black and never wear it. Quite simple isn't it

Perhaps she is just playing to a public audience but she may also be quite genuine in her concern for people - why not give her the benefit of the doubt for the time being?
I don't think she is playing to a public audience Eloethan as she has demonstrated over the yers that she is a passionate advocate of women's rights and a campaigner for the under-privileged, spoken at the UN as an ambassador for women.

If anything, I think that marrying into the Royal Family may curtail what she would like to do; she may have to do more charity work and less campaigning.

I don't think she leaked it to the press, she will be a junior royal, the KP PR machine are trying to sell her to the public hence the Diana comparison. She should be allowed to be herself and the public will take to her or not , in my opinion.

She has no choice but to go along with the palace machine , once married and more use to being a Windsor it will be s bit different.

It’s very possible that as Harry slides down the pecking order the two f them will be deer to create their own niche. He’s already shown an interest in Africa so it’s possible they will focus their attentions there. And I also think the ‘family’ have learned their lesson from the past as Megan’s forthcoming marriage shows: a mixed race divorcee from another country and not a constitutional crisis in sight. At 30-something she is well aware of what she is letting herself in for and I’m sure she’ll hold her own. Harry is marrying a sensible woman, nothing like his mum, and you can see how much he cares about her. Good luck to her, to them both, and I’m sure the family will be very welcoming.
