Good morning all.
Don't know where to start . Yesterday I got a taxi to the hospital on my own, I decided it was my problem and I would deal with it. As soon as I made myself known ,a nurse I hadn't seen came up to me and said I understand you want to speak to someone.
She explained she would get his notes and come and speak to me and as soon as the nurse looking after my H came off her break she would also come.
I explained what I had been told on the phone and she listened, I explained he might not be their priority but he is mine, and the longer he is left like this his Alzheimer's will get worse.
She said the medics still saying he will be moved, but no answer as to when.
His nurse then came and said more or less the same.
A male orderly came across and took my hand and said, don't worry I am watching over him, he deserves respect and dignity his age. Had he not been getting it before?
He is in a lot of pain in his legs and knees and can hardly move. He is now doubly incontinent which distressed me but strangely enough not him, I don't think he realises.
His temperature keeps spiking and they gave him paracetamol while I was there. Also mention of IV ab's, he is on tablets at the moment.
I went back with my S last night but he asked us to go after 15 mins he was very tired and wanted to go to sleep.
I haven't rung yet this morning, I was shattered last night but up very early this morning, in awful pain in my back and hip.
I don't know how long I can keep up twice daily visits but really want to.
Old age is great when you are fit and able, I am seeing the other side now.
