I have been looking forward to celebrating my 62nd birthday on Monday, only to find that my birthday is actually tomorrow !
I have absolutely no idea how I got the days wrong, but I did, and I discovered my mistake via the date on an email that I received today. Is this the thin end of the wedge? Am I losing my cough drops at last ?
Best bit is, my partner was as surprised as I was when I told him.
Hey Ho, the Queen can have two birthdays, so perhaps I can too.

Thank You Lemon case, I loved what you said, it made me laugh out loud. I can now officially call myself a "Basket case".
Absolutely Brilliant.
Thanks again to everyone that has posted a Birthday message. You have really made my day, or in this case, 2 days.
Hugs and Love to all of you.
xxxxxx

lemongrove Sun 14-Jan-18 21:00:20

In that case cookie you can call yourself a ‘basket case’
grin but not until August.

MesMopTop Sun 14-Jan-18 18:10:44

Well, it’s Monday here tomorrow, so you’re not losing it ?. Happy birthday ???

1974cookie Sun 14-Jan-18 17:52:52

Firstly Happy Birthday to jusnoneed, and Pamelaj1 Dgs I hope that you are both having a wonderful day.
What a truly lovely bunch you all are. ?
Thank You so much for your messages and birthday wishes which have put a huge smile on my face. You have made my day.
I don't think that I will be celebrating with a Gin and Milk though.
Mind You Teetime , if Heston Bloomingheck, as I call him, got hold of your idea, who knows. He will probably throw in some dry ice, a few leaves of some weird and wonderful plant and give it a posh name.
Just make sure that you get the rights to this yuppy sounding concoction ?.
My Partner gave me some vouchers for a course. I chose a beginners basket making day course that I really fancied doing in August which I am so looking forward to.
Well I am at the moment.
Any chance a gransnetter could remind me nearer the time just what it is I am looking forward to? ??????.

I’m going to the Theatre this afternoon and discovered this morning when I looked at the email that I had booked four seats instead of three!

I did once gain a year. When I was approaching my 59th birthday I started telling myself I was nearly 60 order to get used to the idea. Before long I had accepted that I would be 60 next birthday and not 59. I nearly missed out 59 completely! I try not to think about age now, but every now and again it hits me.
Happy Birthday Cookie!

Luckygirl Sun 14-Jan-18 13:15:15

Happy Birthday! cupcake flowers

Bellanonna Sun 14-Jan-18 13:06:43

Maybe you’ve started a trend TT? I have enjoyed whisky and milk in the past for a cold.

grandMattie Sun 14-Jan-18 12:41:55

G&T!!!!

grandMattie Sun 14-Jan-18 12:41:41

Hardly the cuppa your name suggests Teatime grin - prefer the old G&G or G&Milk [?]

Teetime Sun 14-Jan-18 09:49:07

Happy Birthday(s) Cookie flowers.

I made myself a nice drink. Ice in first, gin over that then poured in the MILK!!!

grandMattie Sun 14-Jan-18 09:45:55

Join the club! Not age, that I do know [I hope!], but the rest...
Me too, I have to work out from the year of birth, but hey, this year it is easy.
Happy birthday for today, and unbirthday for tomorrow. I love unbirthdays.

OldMeg Sun 14-Jan-18 09:03:47

Yes, you are losing the plot. Better celebrate while you can???

ninathenana Sun 14-Jan-18 08:07:48

I often have to stop and think how old I am blush 62, 63 ??? I have to work from the year I was born.
I'm 63...............
well I am for the next couple of weeks.
Happy Birthday those with up coming birthdays.

PamelaJ1 Sun 14-Jan-18 08:06:29

You will be sharing one of your birthdays with my DGS, let’s hope he doesn’t hear about it and want two too??

Bathsheba Sat 13-Jan-18 21:42:36

Haha! My DD's birthday is in February and after Christmas every year she starts to think of herself as the age she will be on her birthday. She keeps saying "I've got to stop doing this! I'm still only 44 for heaven's sake!".
Happy Birthday for tomorrow and Monday 1974Cookie - enjoy your two-day celebration grin

GranEd Sat 13-Jan-18 21:31:39

My DD1 tells me she spent a year thinking she was 49. The week before her birthday she was filling in a form which required her date of birth...........and she realised that she was 48!!!
Happy birthday jusnoneed and 1974cookie flowers

JackyB Sat 13-Jan-18 20:44:18

It's even harder to work out how old you are when your birthday is at the end of the year. I have to keep convincing myself that my mother really is 98 and will be 99 in November.

mollie Sat 13-Jan-18 20:39:49

Well happy birthday to jusnoneed and 1974cookie. flowers

And thank you for confirming my membership of the bewildered club! I feel right at home grin

jusnoneed Sat 13-Jan-18 20:35:33

lol, happy birthday for whenever it is!
At the beginning of last week my son asked me what I was doing on Thursday, I said just weekly shop as usual and asked him why he wanted to know, thinking there was something he wanted me to do.
"Well it is your birthday.. " he replied.
Me blankly said "is it on Thursday" He just shook his head and said no hope lol.

Auntieflo Sat 13-Jan-18 19:57:11

Welcome to the club Mollie. We the bewildered, are glad of your company. Whatever, Happy Birthday, whenever it occurs. ????

mollie Sat 13-Jan-18 19:34:13

I caught myself looking for my new reading glasses just now when I already had the old ones on my daft face! And yesterday was scrabbling around my desk looking for my mobile to check a telephone number when I realised I was using the darned thing and it was clamped to my ear! I’ve certainly lost the plot!

nanaK54 Sat 13-Jan-18 19:32:48

Wishing you a very happy birthday for tomorrow, Monday, whenever.........grin

Tegan2 Sat 13-Jan-18 19:14:52

I just bought a carrier bag in the mill shop when the assistant asked me if I needed one, only to look down at my left arm on which were draped two carrier bags blush. In my defence I did need a larger one but I still felt a bit stupid.
