I have been looking forward to celebrating my 62nd birthday on Monday, only to find that my birthday is actually tomorrow !
I have absolutely no idea how I got the days wrong, but I did, and I discovered my mistake via the date on an email that I received today. Is this the thin end of the wedge? Am I losing my cough drops at last ?
Best bit is, my partner was as surprised as I was when I told him.
Hey Ho, the Queen can have two birthdays, so perhaps I can too.

Haha!
A mistake anyone could make, if they live in a remote corner of the Outer Hebrides, have no tv or internet or newpapers or a calendar or diary.grin
You do live there don’t you cookie?

Actually, I thought for a while ( on my last birthday) that I was a year younger than I was. blush

Happy Birthday ( whenever it arrives) ????

Happy birthday. I was speaking to a friend last year and she said 'I'll be 68 this year and I'm going to start looking for somewhere fabulous to go when I'm 70'. I said 'well you'd better get a move on then because you'll be 69 this year not 68'. 'No I won't' she said. I told her she was, as she is a year older than me and I know how old I am! She rang me later that day and said 'I can't believe you are right, I don't know what I was thinking'.

Oh to be 62 again - you are a very lucky spring chicken!

I just bought a carrier bag in the mill shop when the assistant asked me if I needed one, only to look down at my left arm on which were draped two carrier bags blush. In my defence I did need a larger one but I still felt a bit stupid.

I caught myself looking for my new reading glasses just now when I already had the old ones on my daft face! And yesterday was scrabbling around my desk looking for my mobile to check a telephone number when I realised I was using the darned thing and it was clamped to my ear! I’ve certainly lost the plot!

Welcome to the club Mollie. We the bewildered, are glad of your company. Whatever, Happy Birthday, whenever it occurs. ????

jusnoneed Sat 13-Jan-18 20:35:33

lol, happy birthday for whenever it is!
At the beginning of last week my son asked me what I was doing on Thursday, I said just weekly shop as usual and asked him why he wanted to know, thinking there was something he wanted me to do.
"Well it is your birthday.. " he replied.
Me blankly said "is it on Thursday" He just shook his head and said no hope lol.

Well happy birthday to jusnoneed and 1974cookie. flowers

And thank you for confirming my membership of the bewildered club! I feel right at home grin

It's even harder to work out how old you are when your birthday is at the end of the year. I have to keep convincing myself that my mother really is 98 and will be 99 in November.

GranEd Sat 13-Jan-18 21:31:39

My DD1 tells me she spent a year thinking she was 49. The week before her birthday she was filling in a form which required her date of birth...........and she realised that she was 48!!!
Happy birthday jusnoneed and 1974cookie flowers

Bathsheba Sat 13-Jan-18 21:42:36

Haha! My DD's birthday is in February and after Christmas every year she starts to think of herself as the age she will be on her birthday. She keeps saying "I've got to stop doing this! I'm still only 44 for heaven's sake!".
Happy Birthday for tomorrow and Monday 1974Cookie - enjoy your two-day celebration grin

PamelaJ1 Sun 14-Jan-18 08:06:29

You will be sharing one of your birthdays with my DGS, let’s hope he doesn’t hear about it and want two too??

ninathenana Sun 14-Jan-18 08:07:48

OldMeg Sun 14-Jan-18 09:03:47

Yes, you are losing the plot. Better celebrate while you can???

grandMattie Sun 14-Jan-18 09:45:55

Join the club! Not age, that I do know [I hope!], but the rest...
Me too, I have to work out from the year of birth, but hey, this year it is easy.
Happy birthday for today, and unbirthday for tomorrow. I love unbirthdays.

Happy Birthday(s) Cookie flowers.

I made myself a nice drink. Ice in first, gin over that then poured in the MILK!!!

grandMattie Sun 14-Jan-18 12:41:41

Happy Birthday! cupcake flowers

NfkDumpling Sun 14-Jan-18 13:48:13

I did once gain a year. When I was approaching my 59th birthday I started telling myself I was nearly 60 order to get used to the idea. Before long I had accepted that I would be 60 next birthday and not 59. I nearly missed out 59 completely! I try not to think about age now, but every now and again it hits me.
Happy Birthday Cookie!

I’m going to the Theatre this afternoon and discovered this morning when I looked at the email that I had booked four seats instead of three!
