Light hearted - it is nice to be nice - isn't it? What has happened to you day that meets this question?

And as some have remarked, it is lovely to be doing the good turn, compliment or whatever as well - and others pleasure gives us a warm glow too!!
It is indeed nice to be nice.
But I do find that I'm sometimes nervous about giving compliments in case they think Im being patronising!

I always think that if someone does something nice for me, then I will do something good for somebody else. If we all did that, the world would be a happier place.
It might be a smile or holding a door,to something far more.

It really is the little things that count. I rent my parking space out & let a couple who were using it this morning use my toilet. The husband is in town for (seems like frequent hospital appts) and his birtthday tomorrow. They were so grateful and promised me a lovely review.

Im undergoing chemotherapy, and I'm so impressed with the kindness and general niceness of everyone I meet.

The staff are overworked, but are laughing and keeping the patients spirits up.

The cancer patients are so upbeat, and kind to each other.

My weekly visits for chemotherapy aren't something I look forward to, but they have sure restored my faith in human beings.

This morning , for the first time in six months, (I've been poorly), I went and saw my hairdresser at the salon - I feel a million dollars !!

Had a happy morning with friends at our weekly craft group. Gave a friend a lift home afterwards. Its nice to be helpful!

Yesterday, the members of our creative writing group remarked on how well I was looking. That almost dispelled my splitting headache!

We went for a walk along the canal towpath at the back of our house. We saw a heron patiently waiting to catch his lunch and then a barge chugged by and the folks on it waved to us. Best of all we are collecting our granddaughter from school today

Someone just asked me to help them across the road! It must have been the pink hat and scarf .....

Lemon you seem to live somewhere like me, we take it for granted that everyone will be nice and pleasant in our small town. However, we never forget how fortunate we are to live in such a kind and friendly place.

OP, we would notice if another driver didn't do the courteous thing because they all do round here. When I leave the house to drive down the steep hill with cars parked on my side of the road, leaving space for only one car it is almost inevitable that the person at the bottom of the road will flash for me to go first. Seems to be a point of honour here to be the one giving way.

I've been looking after my friend with Alzheimers this morning. It makes me realise how very lucky I am. She used to be the most lively of our little gang and now she is a mere shadow.

We had a Northumberland meet up this morning. It was Plainjaney (our local organiser) and granjan15 and me. It was pretty chilly in the local Wyevale garden centre but we smiled at each other's grandchild photos and had a good laugh at each other's stories. A good way to spend a morning and the next meet up is in the pipeline so we have that to look forward to. ?

I got three big smiles and a friendly “good morning’’ from strangers this morning.

My daughter’s partner had today off work and instead of going out and enjoying himself, he’s spent the day fixing little bits and pieces for me. And I didn’t have to ask!

Had doors held open for me both going into and coming out of the bank this morning, and both gentlemen gave me nice smiles too. Brightened my day as it's not always like that where I live.

Coffee with my Meet Up group, very lively then quick visit to see my lovely DD & DGS2, he's 8 months old, trying to crawl & has a lovely smile. Came home with a smile on my face.

Whilst having lunch in a cafe today, a toddler, sitting in a high chair surrounded by her family at the table next to me, suddenly grabbed her Mothers' iPhone and threw it across the VERY hard wooden floor. You can imagine what it did to it.
I think that the little girl had got fed up trying to get her Mum's attention, and just reacted. The Mum however was not the least bit phased as the "screen was cracked anyway".
Sorry if I sound awful, but I had to smile to myself.
That little girl made me smile a second time. As she was being wheeled out in her pushchair, I smiled and waggled my fingers to say goodbye. She smiled and waggled her fingers back too.
Made me feel all fuzzy inside.

Visited my Homestart family after a gap of 5 weeks due to their illness and the little twins smiled and ran towards me. I thought they might have forgotten me.

You have all added some cheer to my day to, some lovely anecdotes of giving and receiving small kindnesses.

I’v Just had a lovely message from a friend. It was about a nativity scene my Dad made for her many years ago. She was telling me that her children still enjoy the tradition of putting it out each year and always remember my parents with much love. It actually made me cry but in a nice way.

One of the buses I use serves the university and I've often grumbled about having to stand with my shopping bags or shopping trolley because seats are taken up with the students' luggage (huge suitcases + rucksacks). Well, this afternoon a lovely foreign student with a suitcase and rucksack immediately gave me his seat.

Lidl here are having a British week selling British food. Unbeknown to me, while I was having my nails manicured, my husband drove 20km to our nearest Lidl and brought back bacon, cheddar, smoked cheddar, Stilton and Wensleydale cheeses. We are following a low carb high fat diet so it was a lovely surprise.
