Got guests coming for dinner next weekend. Cooked for too many years to enjoy it anymore but want to serve up something tasty. My dh always cooks starter and mains, I'm on puds.
Thought I'd found a foolproof microwave steamed marmalade pudding courtesy of Jamie Oliver.
Just tried it out and it's stodgy and heavy. What did I do wrong? Feel like cancelling (obviously I won't) because dont know what to make now.
Feeling sorry for myself as have just caught a heavy cold and I'm back to work tomorrow after bring off since Christmas!

You would have to do a microwaved steam pud at the last minute anyway - always a bit dicey when you have guests!
