Christmas Wish List

Hunter Davies has written a Christmas Wish List, some sad, some amusing. Top of his list is to have his late wife, the novelist Margaret Forster, back for a day. What would be on your Christmas wish list?
He had a list of 20....
Mine, for starters, off the top of my head, would be :

1. Have my late DH back for Christmas Day with all the family so he could meet the grandchildren born after he died. My Mum and Dad could come too ....
2. Have a 'tame' handyman available 24/7 to sort out all the house and garden problems immediately they happen
3. Wake up on Christmas morning and hear that Donald Trump has been deposed and has been 'disappeared' along with his dreadful family and hangers-on
4. Ditto the eejit from North Korea whose name I can't remember/spell
5. Peace in the middle East and the rest of the world for that matter
6. The end of poverty throughout the world. Enough food, shelter and water for everyone
7. Ban the word 'celebrity' when used out of context
8. All religions united in peace and harmony
9. To have enough funds to live comfortably for the rest of my days and to travel while I am still able
10. Restrict the excesses of the 1st world. Too much unnecessary 'stuff' cluttering up our lives
11. Someone with whom to share my bounty ......tha's probably pushing the wishes a bit tchgrin

I'll probably think of more later, but now over to you....

To be with my family on Christmas Day. That's my dearest wish. So far, it hasn't happened, not since the GKs were very little. sad

All of the above! But also that my ex-SiL would stop tormenting DD ...

Only one...which could never come true. To have all my children as children again. I miss all the wonderful times we shared from when they were born until they left home.

Some of these wishes made me cry! I wish I could grant them all.

My wish is for Trump to vanish overnight and George Clooney to become President.

Some didn't have a chance to say goodbye

Elrel Sun 24-Dec-17 14:41:26

Dear Anniebach, I wish I could make your wishes come true.
For me?
Peace on Earth, Goodwill to all Men.
And a chance to tell my parents I now appreciate all they did for me and regret the choices I made.

Most of the above list and a cure for PD which I have had for 2 years. I dread the future as there is no knowing how the disease will progress. My OH is kind & patient but will that last for ever? How do others cope

Anniebach Sun 24-Dec-17 14:53:37

Elrel, your parents know x

I'd like my recently deceased husband back, my favourite cat back, not having to worry about finance, and cure for cancer.

Billybob4491 Sun 24-Dec-17 15:08:17

Just two wishes

1.To have my husband restored to full health.
2.To see my church packed to the rafters with churchgoers, sadly now this no longer happens, despite being a Christian country.

I wish
*we were totally free of the EU now
* that people would mind their own business who America chose to be their President... I've never heard such vitriol against one man who has done nothing to you lot personally. Shame on those who make disgusting comments on here.
* that animals never have to suffer abuse or hardship again
* that the planet could be free of pollution
* that my two knee replacements go well next year and I can be pain free for the first time in 6 years
* that my lovely younger daughter finds a nice place to live and delivers her first baby safely
* that people would realise that taking drugs, smoking, eating and drinking and gambling etc. to excess is not the way to be happy
* that people should not be jealous of what others have but strive to get the things they desire for themselves
* and, lastly, that aliens arrive and prove that religion is a man made idea to control the masses and warn the human race that if we don't stop reproducing in such large numbers we will exhaust all the Earth's resources.

I wish, like more than half of the British people, that we could cancel this brexit nonsense and stay in the EU.

matson Sun 24-Dec-17 18:34:58

Same as Annie, the chance to say goodbye .

Cherrytree59 Sun 24-Dec-17 18:46:52

A cure for all the horrible disease that plagues our loved ones .
A light bulb moment for all heads of states , ?
No more Wars.
Combine all knowledge to try and save the plant for our grandchildren and their grandchildren.?

Anniebach Sun 24-Dec-17 22:25:02

Billybob4491 Mon 25-Dec-17 05:57:37

Anniebach Mon 25-Dec-17 09:12:09

Lots of tbe above plus I hope they start finding new antibiotics soon. If they don't we may soon see conditions like in the 19th century.
