First of all, Radio 2 keep playing 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran and Beyonce (I don't like Beyonce!) and then BBC keep showing their Christmas ad which is better than either John Lewis's or Sainsbury's! I just can't cope!!

Just watched the BBC ad, you've got me in tears now!

Its cute! That's all.

We both think the Dancing on Ice ad is far better than any of the Christmas ads out at the moment - genius grin

humptydumpty Thu 07-Dec-17 14:52:57

I thought it got a bit too soppy at the end, but loved the beginning smile

I love that BBC ad and have even noticed DH stopping to watch it. Love the man's tummy.

Not seen any Christmas ads., not surprising as I don’t watch ITV. Love the BBC film trailer thingy, a modern take on Christmas Spirit.

callgirl1 Thu 07-Dec-17 16:20:25

I had to register to watch it, then realised I`d seen it on TV last night!

I love that BBC ad as well Kittyl, none of the big store ads are a patch on it. Mind I love that Symphony song anyway, my little grand daughter used to sing it word for word. Love Ed Sheeran, not so fond of Beyonce. So I know how you feel.

I agree the BBC and ITV dancing on ice ads are the best to come out this Christmas.

Really disapointed in the shop Christmas ads this year. I really don't know what John Lewis were thinking about sanctioning a monster with a scrotum nose. It makes me laugh every time I see it now.

Yes that was lovely, especially for the girl to realise that her dad was actually taking notice of her all the time when she felt so ignored. It brought tears to my eyes too.

love the Daddydaycare element of the BBC ad.

Camelotclub Fri 08-Dec-17 11:18:37

But where is the mum? Didn't move me much I'm afraid. I like the polar bears for (is it?) Dancing on Ice.

GandT Fri 08-Dec-17 11:30:19

I think the BBC ad is brilliant. Don't tire of watching it.

newnanny Fri 08-Dec-17 11:51:43

I love the Boots ad with the 2 sisters.

barbaralynne Fri 08-Dec-17 12:43:13

shysal thank you so much for posting this link. I hadn't seen it but it is sooo lovely!

Willow500 Fri 08-Dec-17 12:47:47

Aw just watched that - it is lovely.

holdingontometeeth Fri 08-Dec-17 13:21:01

I don't watch ads. Record all programmes I wish to watch, then a bit of deft fast forwarding and I arrive at my chosen viewing.

Christalbee Fri 08-Dec-17 13:33:53

Think it's a bit stupid. Where's the Mum. Didn't move me at all. We're not lovers of any of the adds to be honest and usually go out of the room when they're on.

Witzend Fri 08-Dec-17 13:52:34

Maybe it's me, but I couldn't see anything Christmassy in that BBC ad at all.

lemongrove Fri 08-Dec-17 13:53:57

How will you cope with the smaller DGC and the nativity play kitty tchgrin take tissues!

lemongrove Fri 08-Dec-17 13:54:19

I know I will.

kittylester Fri 08-Dec-17 15:04:34

Not enough room for us at any of the Christmas Nativities. Just have to make do with photos and videos. sad

Youngest DGS was first camel and had to do lots of head shaking (cos camels do!). His head fell off twice and second time he put it on back to front (I've told this tale in the kitchen - sorry) which confused the other 5 year olds no end!! grin

I too love the polar bear ad. Just to hear Andy Williams rendering of The Impossible Dream.
Living alone, when ever I hear that version, I can have a good old cry my eyes out session as it brings back such wonderful memories of my younger days that I would not for one instance have changed.
