To be honest I've picked up a bad habit

To be honest, Teetime, no.

At the end of the day, I can't explain how you've picked up this habit, like.

So, I think it goes something like this, like, know what I mean!
It's true, though, we can say things without realising that we are. ?

My daughter and I realised we both said "Yeah, no!" when agreeing with someone during the course of conversation, and at other times when reiterating what we just said..
Yeah, no! We just thought it was strange, and ridiculous.

Oh I am with you on this. Mine is "to be fair" . . .

I hate the phrase, so why do I find myself saying it so often!

Starting every sentence with "so........."

We are where we are - is my favourite at the moment but, to be honest (boom boom), it's DH's fault because he will keep saying 'if only we/he/she/they had/not done this .....' Drives me bonkers!!

One of DD's boyfriends used to preface everything with 'to be honest' and he told more whoppers than anyone else I've met

I have lots of annoying habits (apparently)

I found myself turning into Miranda's mother and saying 'it's what I call' when describing something.

I hope I don't still do it, because it's what I call an annoying habit.

I keep saying basically, basically wish I could stop

'It is what it is' is another annoying one (not mine)

Littlest DGC has started prefacing everything with 'basically'

List of annoyances: , Singing from the same hymn sheet, thinking outside the box, basically, at the end of the day, you know what I mean, put it in perspective (whatever that means) I could go on and on.........just saying nearly forgot that one!

I hate hearing the word like after every third word. I have managed to drop saying the word basically at the beginning of most sentences. I agree with your list Billybob and I am sure that there are more.

My ex SIL called everyone, male or female, young or old, mate. Every single time I used to say, I'm not your mate, my name is S......, but he just couldn't help himself. Drove me mad.

I have a friend who says "literally" literally every minute!

We have a friend who we (privately) call Basically! As in 'old Basically told me....'.

I once knew someone who often introduced her remarks with, "Let me put it this way...." which had the effect of making me think there was some underlying meaning that she couldn't express directly. But there wasn't. She just said things like, "Let me put it this way ... Peter has clubs after school three days a week" and there was no more to it than that. Quite disconcerting.

Not the worst swear word but I know some people don’t like it. It’s very hard to give up an ingrained habit.

Mr P has a little saying that comes out from time to time "That'll be it then"

As an example, Him: "I can't find my blue jumper" Me: "It's on the airer, drying." Him "That'll be it then".

So - I try and avoid saying 'to be honest' because I read it means that the person saying it is a big fat fibber.

Yes, I read that too. Iam64 about not trusting anyone who says 'to be honest', but I can't remember where. DH always says that he listens to any politician speaking and says to himself 'why is this b**** lying to me?'

I have a friend who keeps interjecting 'Do you know what I'm saying?' into anything she is saying - well yes, you've just said it!
