Finally the day has arrived for my trip to India, this time tomorrow i will be in Dehli enjoying weather in the high 70's and probably being totally overwhelmed by all the sights, sounds and smells i will encounter!! It is also my 65th birthday today so no celebrations taking place, that was done on Sunday, i have to finish packing my case, no doubt things will go in and out, check my documents for travel, and then wait till 4.30 when we start our journey to Heathrow. Until my bottom hits the seat on the plane I can't believe it's going to happen!!! Bon Voyage!!!

I would love to go to India!

My son took an organised back packing trip around the country a few years ago and thought it a wonderful experience.

By the by, seasoned travellers told him if he had stomach upsets in India, let them run their course (no pun intended) and drink plenty of bottled water/salts. Flush it all out. Apparently taking Imodium and the like seals in the bugs and you may find you have recurring stomach upsets for months afterwards.

Many of his group verified this. It's a second hand tale but son took the water only advice when Delhi Belly struck and didn't suffer again. Others in his party did as the drying effects of Imodium were only temporary.

Have a fabulous time travels. I look forward to hearing about your experiences when you return.

So so disappointed!
Went to see Pyschic Sally last night and cannot believe how random and odd it was. Either boring or unintentionally funny. Came out two hours later with a numb bum and utterly confused.
Still a believer though!

Hope you make it to Amristar as well, it was amazing and then on to the Pakistan crossing for the evening ceremony. If you do go there take your passport and then you go in the VIP area.

Varanasi is worth a visit too.

Hope no one took too much notice of that silly woman a week or two ago going down the Ganges. Our India wasn't like that at all, much better.

We missed the border ceremony. I'd love to have seen that.

We went to the north east last time and loved it. I could easily live in Darjeeling!

I know that it's best to flush out the tummy bug but sometimes you have to get a bus or flight and really need to be on it and unlikely to have access to a loo for while!
