As it would appear we cannot be trusted to discuss anything slightly controversial I am starting a thread to discuss unicorns and butterflies. I like white unicorns with rainbow horns

Anniebach Sat 11-Nov-17 16:12:52

No problem house training him, he is Welsh , a lovely shade of red

Oldwoman70 Sat 11-Nov-17 16:05:42

Have you adopted him Annie. He could prove to be a good deterrent against burglars (although you may need a very large litter tray)

Anniebach Sat 11-Nov-17 16:03:07

I have a dragon in my garden , as I post this i can see him clearly ,expect he wants to watch Wales v Australia rugby union

My little pony is most welcome - as long as it doesn't attempt to introduce a contentious posting. That cannot be allowed under any circumstances as GNs are all very delicate flowers who are unable to withstand the slings and arrows of robust debate.

Can we include my little pony too? , lots of butterfly and unicorn my little ponies?

kittylester your DGDs are obviously wise beyond their years. Lona that is a very cute unicorn

Elegran Sat 11-Nov-17 14:44:24

Unphotoshopped photograph of unicorn. The species became extinct in the wild in 1972 when the last recorded animal was shot . Following the success of re-introduced herds during the 1990s, poaching once again has become a serious threat.

*photograph untouched but carefully posed. Other photos visible online may be more candid,

Of course there are unicorns, we have one in the family!

Well I've just looked up 'unicorn' in Collins English Dictionary and it says a two-horned animal, thought to be either the rhinoceros or the aurochs (Deuteronomy 33:17): mistranslation in the Authorized Version of the original Hebrew So, if it's in The Bible, it must be true eh?

MissAdventure Sat 11-Nov-17 14:11:09

Do you know why there are no unicorns? For anyone who doesn't..

Two of my DGDs are here and they insist that Unicorns exist so I must be wrong.

hildajenniJ Sat 11-Nov-17 14:07:17

Charlie Weasley trained Norwegian Ridgeback dragons in Romania. I must have a holiday there, and see if I can spot any.
These caterpillars of the large white butterfly ate all my DH's carefully grown broccoli.

NanaandGrampy Sat 11-Nov-17 14:07:00

No dragons here but there is a pheasant in the garden .

annsixty Sat 11-Nov-17 14:05:03

There are many dragons in Wales, when we had a caravan there my GD would insist we went out looking for them.
Now we know butterflies exist and I have now told you dragons exist therefore unicorns must exist. QED.
Daft as brushes the lot of us.

As I understand it dragons mainly reside in China having been wiped out in Europe by knights defending virgins from sacrifice.

Unicorns are found mostly in Europe where they are known to fart rainbows after rain storms

Willow500 Sat 11-Nov-17 13:07:56

I think unicorns made way for dragons actually - everyone knows dragons exist of course.

Oops - far too controversial grin

DanniRae Sat 11-Nov-17 13:06:43

grin from me too judypark!!

mcem Sat 11-Nov-17 13:02:55

Posting a pic of DGD's slippers. I don't think that one is male and one female so if anyone is offended by what might be a same sex couple I do apologise for offending.
On the other hand, one is left and one is right so I hope I've avoided political controversy.
However there might be an ageist element as they don't come in adult sides.

Oldwoman70 Sat 11-Nov-17 13:01:57

judypark grin

durhamjen Sat 11-Nov-17 12:59:41

It might need one if it gets any colder, Oldwoman.

judypark Sat 11-Nov-17 12:54:49

I had a unicorn years ago, I acquired the beast by continually traipsing to and from my halls of residence to lectures whilst wearing totally inappropriate footwear.

Oldwoman70 Sat 11-Nov-17 12:54:34

dj perhaps it could ask a unicorn to give it a lift! grin

baubles Sat 11-Nov-17 12:54:20

? Unicorns with butterfly ? wings are my personal favourite.

durhamjen Sat 11-Nov-17 12:53:14

Fiorentina, painted ladies and red admirals are still supposed to be about, according to Butterfly Conservation. Your painted lady is probably on its way back to Africa, and might not make it.
