Here we are again...
Happy as can be,
All good pals and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather...
Never mind the rain,
As long as we're together -
Woops she goes again.

Welcome. Make yourselves at home. Let us enjoy yet another cosy kitchen that is also pet friendly. flowers wine cupcake [café] brew

Don’t worry ann, rise above it all. This virtual world comes with confusion aplenty.

annsixty Sat 02-Dec-17 20:10:16

I really shouldn't have a moan, I feel so deeply for Maw facing saying a last goodbye to her dear husband on Monday and all my kindest thoughts and good wishes go to her and her Daughters , it is so final for them all but he will always be with them.

MawBroon Sat 02-Dec-17 20:29:19

Thank you annsixty I am afraid I have added my tuppenceworth on that thread.
I have to confess to you my friends (and I expect charleygirl to speak very severely to me) but I had a complete meltdown earlier this evening and poor Hattie was shouted at and chased round the kitchen table with me brandishing a copy of the Parish magazine telling her she was a BAD DOG (for drinking my coffee, crunching her way through an entire bag of mixed nuts I had bought for the DGSs, and attempting to nibble a lovely Christmas arrangement a dear friend had brought round yesterday.
I am VERY VERY ashamed of myself as I would never want my dog to be afraid of me. In mitigation I am feeling crap, missing paw SO much, I sat in “his” armchair and opened up my heart to him earlier this afternoon and felt so lonely because he couldn’t hear me. Yes we will make it lovely on Monday, he deserves the best, but oh dear.

Greyduster Sat 02-Dec-17 20:34:34

I am sure Hattie has forgiven you already Maw and dogs understand more than we give them credit for. Be kind to yourself.

annsixty Sat 02-Dec-17 21:01:54

You know we are with you and totally understand your meltdown. You are allowed and we know Hattie knows you love her to bits.
She will be a wonderful companion to you in the future.
I think she was meant.

Crafting Sat 02-Dec-17 21:06:52

maw I am sure hattie will forgive you and is well aware how lucky she is to have you.
How nice all the family are playing a part in the service on Monday. It goes to show how loved and special paw was to you all. Be kind to yourself maw. Perhaps leave some newspaper down for hattie tonight. If a bag of nuts has the same effect on her as it does on me......say no more blush

Crafting Sat 02-Dec-17 21:08:50

ann I read that thread and you have done nothing wrong. Ignore any nasty comments. Let others spend a day in your shoes and see how they would cope with it all.

NanaandGrampy Sat 02-Dec-17 21:09:42

Just popping , as we just got home after the party trip!

Just wanted to say Hattie has never had it better in her life than the life she lives with you Maw. So a little naughty ness on her part and a little crossness on yours is just a tiny blip in life’s rich tapestry .

The good thing about dogs is that no matter what happens she loves you more than anything except a good bone !!

She understands more than you think x

Charleygirl Sat 02-Dec-17 21:13:37

ann that was a tad OTT critisising ?spelling you for what you wrote yesterday. All I can say is that person does not know you very well. What a flaming cheek.

I wrote 3 cards yesterday and almost needed a lie down after wards.

cornergran Sat 02-Dec-17 22:04:30

Hattie will know you’re upset maw and won’t be at all scared. She’ll know she was overstepping her boundaries. She’ll understand your reactions just as we do. You can’t be brave all the time, you’ve planned Monday in the best way possible, it’s totally understandable to have a down time today. I’m wondering about tomorrow, hope you will have someone with you.

Hope the party day was fabulous n&g, looking forward to hearing all about it.

Three cards charley? I waded through about 30 today. Looks like I win tchgrin.

Early-ish night for me. Sleep well everyone.

Charleygirl Sun 03-Dec-17 09:11:39

Maw I think that it is understandable that you have had a meltdown and better in the comfort of your own home. I am sure that it will not be the only one. We all understand that you are missing Paw so much and I am sure that Hattie will realise that she was naughty just the once. A few cuddles and all will be back to normal with her. She may be a bit wary for a while but she does love you and the lovely home that you have provided for her.

You and the girls are giving Paw the best send off possible tomorrow- he will be smiling.

corner I am writing the equivalent of a letter each time I write a card. I must do more today I have been thinking about it for long enough.

Nelliemoser Sun 03-Dec-17 09:35:18

MawBroon Sending you virtual (((hugs))) I hope it helps.

Galen Sun 03-Dec-17 10:48:19

Dgc here today for my birthday.16month old needs a keeper! So far he’s managed to switch off my central heating, smear chocolate over the carpet and wreck the lounge!
The girls are delightful but Griffin reminds me of a Duracell bunny. I shall be exhausted by the time they go after lunch.
Still it’s lovely to see them.

Bellasnana Sun 03-Dec-17 10:54:54

Happy birthday, dear Galen flowers

Marydoll Sun 03-Dec-17 10:56:04

Happy birthday Galen, grin. I'm sitting here smiling. We have just got past that stage with DGD. She has now discovered Alexa and keeps talking to "her".
DH won't let me buy a new rug at the moment, as we are forever shampooing the one we have after she leaves. However, we wouldn't change anything for the world, she brings so much joy !

Anniebach Sun 03-Dec-17 10:56:29

Excuse me butting in, would like to say to Maw - you are in my prayers and I will hold you in my thoughts tomorrow x

Charleygirl Sun 03-Dec-17 10:59:26

Annie you are not butting in, this is open to everybody, it is not an exclusive club.

Galen better you than me! You will need to retire to a darkened room after your family leave.

Galen Sun 03-Dec-17 11:24:56

At this rate sooner rather than later

annsixty Sun 03-Dec-17 11:27:58

Bring out the vodka as they drive away, it would do it for me, well gin for me actually.

MawBroon Sun 03-Dec-17 12:02:05

Thank you Anniebach (and everybody else who is being SO kind)
You will know better than I whether tomorrow is an ordeal,to get through or whether I can put my sensible head on and truly celebrate paws life, his family, his faith. smile

Greyduster Sun 03-Dec-17 12:56:23

Happy birthday, Galen! Can I share the darkened room that
Charlie has recommended?

soop Sun 03-Dec-17 13:04:15

Hello my darlin's. I cannot share the cake with you hmm but I have photographed it. By the way, we ate a few chocs that were included.

granniequeenie A beautiful sky-image. I wish that I had your wherewithal to write an interesting post.

ann whatever it was that caused you even a niggle of upset...ignore it. flowers

Anniebach Sun 03-Dec-17 13:04:56

Maw, I still remember clearly my husbands funeral, 40 years ago! This sounds barking but I wanted him to be proud of me, went through the service and burial with this thought, it helped me . You will get through the day my love, we have to. Hugs x

soop Sun 03-Dec-17 13:14:01

A very happy birthday to our Galen You've made me chuckle.

Hello AnnieB.

Maw You will be in my our special thoughts throughout tomorrow.
As for Hattie, she's already forgotten the chase around the table. She is one very lucky woofter.

Fennel Sun 03-Dec-17 13:31:14

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as well, Maw. Surrounded by all your family and friends who knew and loved you both.
You'll always be a couple, even though Paw has gone to another place.
