it sounds as if he's having a sugar rush from the chocolate . I watched DGD decorating a biscuit at the school fair, I've never seen anyone piling so much icing so patiently on to a biscuit before (then ate it all, still dripping icing!). There was a little 'sugar rush' later on.

Maw will be thinking of you tomorrow and Anniebach's thought is a good one to hold in your mind

Forget the meltdown, Maw. I'm sure Hattie already has, especially as you have probably given her an apologetic hug. Don't let her make you feel guilty!
Your 'sensible head' will win out tomorrow, though you will probably shed a few tears - you wouldn't be human if you didn't. Your friends and family will see you through. xxxx

The house looks as though it’s been bombed. Nothing is in its right place, the hall is covered in bits of mud and I’ve completely run out of energy.
To cap it all I’m working tomorrow and we have 4 potentially violent people

Now I remember why I had a playpen! Darling daughter doesn’t believe in them, calling them ‘baby prisons!’.

I don’t care, I’ll sleep on the floor! Today, getting The Boy to actually do anything has been like pulling teeth. I just wanted somewhere to go and have one long scream!!! I did eventually manage to get him into the kitchen to make some gingerbread men, and if you think your house was a mess, Galen...... ?

I've just popped in to wish Maw well for tomorrow in case she doesn't get chance to call in tomorrow. You will be fine which ever head you are wearing. And, your family will do you proud.

Galen, I think I mentioned the aftermath of Lottie's last visit. She has long blond curls, big blue eyes and a lovely lisp and looks as though the proverbial butter wouldn't melt. After her last visit the wifi wouldn't work as she'd switched it off, the cats couldn't get in through the cat flap as she'd locked it and the downstairs loo was very, very, slow to empty. I love her to pieces.

Today I got it into my head that the bookshelves holding countless photo albums needed a wee tidy. I've just finished the main one and it does look neat. Thing is, I've been reminiscing. Open one album and away I went...blubbing like a baby. Anyways, I'm so pleased with the result. About to light the fire and read the Sunday newspaper. After which...G&T.

Galen you have my sympathy, there’s nothing quite like a visit from a whirling dervish on a sugar rush to make you head towards a darkened room. I remember one occasion a few years back, when all of ours were here at the same time and some who don’t travel lightly were staying over - so the whole house was in chaos. At one point I crept upstairs, pushed aside the various belongings none of which were mine which had somehow migrated onto my bed, lay down and closed my eyes. A few moments later my youngest dd, who has no children, crept in saying “I wondered where you’d gone, it’s all a bit much down there isn’t it can I join you?” After a bit of laugh we happily returned to the fray! My old boy on the other hand loves the whole melee and is oblivious to any ensuing chaos.
maw the lovely thing about dogs is their short memories, Hattie will be quick to forgive your up and down emotions. Thinking of you and your family tomorrow, it doesn’t matter what head you wear so long as it’s one that feels comfortable for you at the time.
soop we had to move several, or more accurately lots and lots of, boxes from under our bed to facilitate the decorating. I noticed my old boy put then back very quickly, I think he was afraid that if I started looking at the contents of the boxes I may not emerge this side of Christmas!

A quick whizz in to send love to maw, I’ll be thinking of you and your family tomorrow. There will be so much support for you from your family and friends. Just be as you are from moment to moment, don’t worry about which head you are wearing.

I see it’s your birthday galen , congratulations, although a riotous one it’s been. We had an unexpected visit this afternoon from two of ours, older but still able to cause havoc in about 30 seconds.

Food time now, off to cause my own special chaos in the kitchen.
