Crazygran I am wondering if you are making out and making up for lost time with your man (if so I hope you are using protection, apparetly STDs are rife in us oldies because we don't have to prevent pregnancy), or if it has all fallen apart and you are wishing you hadn't shared your feelings. If this is the case, don't regret it - many of us are lonely and vulnerable, ready to grasp at friendship, affection or more if it comes our way, and why not? . The trouble is that for every fanciable and/or sweet man that we come across, there are probably half a dozen others around he can choose from who also fancy him, including some much younger than him, maybe some, dare I say it, gorgeous younger ladies from other countries looking to settle down here and inherit before too long! Yes I have become cynical in my old age. ☹️
Even if nothing comes of it, don't regret the episode, it has shown you that you are alive and not past it - get out there and meet lots of people, be open to new possibilities, but be realistic about finding a long term partner - stastically the odds are against it but you may be one of the lucky ones.
I know someone who, if they meet someone, thinks, would I want to nurse him through a serious illness, or have him nurse me through one? The answer is always no. But such pessimism closes the door on what could possibly be years of happiness and contentment.
