grin I'm full of surprises. Surprised myself with that one! Remembered from when I had a real interest in the occult.

You could ask a priest to come in to exorcise any spirits.
It should work although they could come back.

(I am being serious)

Sorry, meant to add that it doesn't happen all the time so I don't think it can be a kind of reflection of his own breathing. It's weird.

NotTooOld--- No, this is a genuine post, not a Halloween spoof.

Well, I don't know. If he doesn't want to be disturbed by the breathing spectre, then he should respectfully say that he sleeps there now, and would they kindly leave him in peace.
My DD and family have recently moved into an 18th century house which is reputedly haunted. DGS 1 had been sleeping in his room for a few nights when his bed shook and he felt someone touch him. He thought it was his brother, but when he turned round nobody was there. My DD told him that if it happened again he should say something similar to the above.
Like your OH, my grandson was not in the least perturbed about it. They have lived in old properties as long as he can remember.

I've certainly experienced this too. I just assumed that somehow I'm hearing my own breathing in a distant sort of way. Maybe he is too?

Ooo-er! Is this a Halloween joke?

OH and I have separate rooms because of his stentorian snoring and my insomnia. The other day, as he was going up to bed, he announced that he was off to join the ghost. I asked what he meant and he said that he frequently lies in bed and hears somebody breathing next to him! He doesn't seem at all concerned about it but it sounds quite alarming to me. The old house next door to us is reputed to be haunted . It's now in such disrepair that I joked about their ghost moving to our place for a bit more comfort, but I am actually quite unsure what to do. Any advice?
