Well, I went to have a good old moan in the 'anyone awake' thread, and found it has been closed. So, here is a new one.
I'm awake, I have a headache, I'm at work, so can't go prowling around, and I know tomorrow is going to be a terrible day.

Anniebach Sun 21-Jan-18 05:34:40

Still no full nights sleep sorry so many awake x

Wilma it was my MiL who died last week (four months after my own Mum) and yes we’re finalising the arrangements for her funeral which will be held in a few days time. Thank you for asking.

Annie Hello, hope the reflux isn’t too bad.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 21-Jan-18 06:57:02

I'm so sorry, I did know it was your MiL. Both losses in such a short time, that's hard for you. flowers

Hello Annie, no relief from the reflux then? flowers

Anniebach Tue 23-Jan-18 04:21:29

Quiet tonight here, that's good if everyone is sleeping

appygran Tue 23-Jan-18 06:47:43

Been awake since 5 after a restless few hours. When will normal sleep return? No point trying now may as well get up and start the day.

Anniebach Tue 23-Jan-18 08:37:46

Appgran, you must be so tired today.

Anniebach Wed 24-Jan-18 04:38:57

Am so in despair of this broken sleep night after night, month after month, and hate the middle of the night when thoughts are so dark.

annsixty Wed 24-Jan-18 04:45:26

So sorry Annie that you are so low and troubled.
I feel very guilty as this is my first disturbed night for about a week.
It is a catch 22 situation when you can't get out for fresh air and exercise to make you tired.
Your sadness is another factor which is 100 times worse in the early hours.
I hope so much things ease for you with time.xx

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 24-Jan-18 04:49:19

I'm here Annie.

The wind is up here and I've just made a hot chocolate to try and get off to sleep. I'm so tired but the wheezing in my throat is like a dripping tap. It's so hard to shut down your mind when it's not quiet.

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 24-Jan-18 04:50:42

Hello annsixty. Don't feel guilty, feel glad.

appygran Wed 24-Jan-18 06:43:59

I hope everyone managed to get back to sleep. I have been lying here since about four hoping for just one more hour but I have given up now and will begin another early day.

Annie It must be so difficult for you and you must be exhausted from night after night of very little sleep. Its the thoughts that start rumbling around at about 2.00 am that refuse to stop that are keeping me awake. The what if's and the if onlys. Thoughts that during the daylight hours I know are totally irrational but refuse to go away in the early hours. I miss someone to keep me grounded when I am worried. Just another thing to learn to cope with on my own. All the things I took for granted.

I have read a little of your story Annie and I cannot even begin to understand how it must feel to lose a beloved child. but my sincere condolences.

Marydoll Wed 24-Jan-18 08:20:02

Oh, how I can sympathise with you all. I have been lying awake for the last three nights. sad.
I eventually fell asleep, but was woken by a text message at 7am.angry

Annie, please take care.x

Anniebach Wed 24-Jan-18 08:56:26

It's the wretched digestive problems which waken me, takes about hour and half to two hours to ease, there is nothing else to do but think . I play alphabet games, drink tea and suck rennies and thoughts start creeping in .

I was so miserable when I posted, I don't post every night now, i was even boring myself ?

Thank you for your words x

annsixty Wed 24-Jan-18 09:02:38

Annie have you tried Gaviscon Advance?
A tbls at bedtime should help the reflux, it helps me.

Anniebach Wed 24-Jan-18 09:08:58

Yes Ann, tried so many things, am bit swamped by the advice from physiotherapist, Occupation Therapist , Dietician and Nutritionist . Think I need to start a meme thread again, get far more sense here than from those

WilmaKnickersfit Thu 25-Jan-18 02:31:18

Just caught up with all the threads I'm on, so I'm off to make a warm drink. Hopefully some zzzzzzzz will follow.

Day6 Thu 25-Jan-18 03:07:53

I have yet to sleep. It seems I will have to go to the doctor's and resort to medication. I haven't even yawned yet. 3am.
I hope other troubled sleepers are fast asleep as I type. Wishing you all a restful night.

WilmaKnickersfit Thu 25-Jan-18 03:20:09

I'm going to try my audio book for a while to see if I can drop off. ???

Day6 Thu 25-Jan-18 03:28:18

I must get some audio books Wilma. I read my Kindle but darken the screen - no blue light at night. Listening might be more conducive to nodding off. I'll try anything!

Anniebach Thu 25-Jan-18 04:35:18

Since 3.20am I have been trying to ignore digestive upset and go back to sleep, I am so tired , given up and have just put kettle on , should have done so annhour ago.

glammanana Thu 25-Jan-18 06:01:03

I am never normally awake so early but I was woken at 3.45am with the sound of water gushing only to find my bedroom/hallway flooded from a burst connection from our water meter which is housed in the built in wardrobe, hubby has copd so could not get down to turn it off and we had to call firebrigade to turn it off for us they where so good and helpful,I am distraught as I have just got the place nice after waiting so long to be rehoused I know it is not the end of the world in the great scheme of things but I feel so upset about it right now.

Billybob4491 Thu 25-Jan-18 06:16:19

Glamma, do hope everything gets sorted out soon, quite a rude awakening! hopefully as the day wears on you will be better able to cope.

glammanana Thu 25-Jan-18 06:39:59

Thanks so much Billybob I've stopped crying now and have just put it down to bad luck so will carry on with trying to get the water up its going to be difficult as the bedroom furniture is heavy pine so will have to wait for my sons to come and help their dad do some moving about.

cornergran Thu 25-Jan-18 07:39:36

Oh glamma, I’m so sorry you’ve had this happen. Do you have insurance? If so let them know at once and they should manage it all for you. Send in people if you need them and a dehumidifier to help dry things out. Wishing you well.

Marydoll Thu 25-Jan-18 07:43:26

I'm do sorry to hear this glamma. I hope you get things sorted quickly. flowers
